You can set reinforcement even if you only have 1 merc. I used the main merc as reinforcement while i did my subo quest.

Necro main, I'm leveling them all up and switch them out over and over. Right now I'm loving Cannibal Grandma but all of them are good. I like Subo's "maphack" but I agree with godofm3tal1 that it should have been that way from the beginning without it being a merc skill.

The hired Merc gets 100% exp while the reinforcement gets 50%. It isn't split. Having both is like earning an extra 50% total exp for your Pale Marks.

They need to do something about the whole "subo shows you resources" thing. Almost feels like they ran out of stuff to do with mercenaries with him. His entire kit is so bad that they had to give some half broken ability that should be on by default anyways just to get people to use him, and now that's all you see people using despite the other mercs being vastly superior in every other way. I'd much rather be running the demon, personally. His debuff skills are kinda nuts for any build.

The appeal for subo doesn't last into endgame. His actual core skills aren't bad but I would look at it just as I did in this video will it help my main do more damage or help my main survive.

@@OwnModeGaming what does subo do for survivability? If I wanted that I'd go raheir, who is currently my backup

@@godofm3tal1 If you need the survivability, than yes go with Raheir all day. If you don't, it's more about your build or what you are trying to do. I actually just equipped subo earlier to run helltides. I like knowing where the packs are and I just went with Ready at Hand and Opening Fire for speed and crit. If I was doing a fire build I might lean into the side that has him adding burn status with molotov. I might even go for bargaining chips if I'm going for an overpower build. Ultimately, I think there will be builds that use them all but you should use the ones that work best for you.

@@OwnModeGaming yes, of course, people need to run what's best for their build. My point is that I don't think subos kit is "best" for anyone. Even his overpower contribution seems minimal compared to the kind of damage crank you can get from other mercs. Whole point of my op was to illustrate that I think his kit could use some more imagination and power cuz right now it's not really feeling very good outside the qol skill they gave him that should, imo, just be integrated into the game

I hated subo’s ability in hell tides. His yellow dots override all other mob indications.

Varyana makes mobs Vulnerable and Aldkin does shadow damage and crowd controlled and as mentioned in this guide Rahier is also a solid choice. Subo is great for running around in the open world when you need materials.

If you go to the hide out and talk to them you can remove them from your party.

Let me start by saying I am at home in bed basically playing games fulltime because of my chemotherapy so I play more then most people but I have already finished everything in the game, all bosses and end game content. It was to me very easy and a little disappointing. I was very back and forth on campaign, say 5/10 from what I expected after the original was so good. I really enjoy the game but every time I play now I just get bored after an hour and find myself wanting to quit. Last season I think I leveled every class to 100 and enjoyed it so much more and not sure why... Maybe just burned out.

Hope your chemo goes well and feel well! Just in case you don’t know, the mercenary levels and paragon points get shared between characters within the same account this season, so switching to a new class isn’t as painful as before so you can build more classes if you want

Best of luck with your chemo. My mom is also going through chemo right now. I really feel for you. I can see the burnout being a real thing. I leveled all 5 to 100 for the last 3 seasons, it get rough. I think playing some alts is going to feel better this time around as @xianliu7178 commentented you keep a lot from your first run. There is also a bargain in the Underground called the Chaotic Uniques that will drop uniques for other classes when running it with your main. If you are really looking for challenge you can always run hardcore or start out on penitent with another class or both.

I think you can still set your reinforcement to level at least one of the merc and the misses can do the same. You can then rotate the mercs to level them all and get cooler stuff from the merc store.

I think its a shame that you cant equip items on them. Merc in D2 is much more fun. It feels like a step back.

The D2 Mercs are pretty useless early on for defensive purposes without gear,thats why the Shield Merc of D4 is the best defensive Merc of all Diablo Games

Dominate what dog? you walk around a boring map everything explodes as soon as it enters your path of vision from level 1 to 60 is the exact same thing all this builds all this clases play exactly the same, you can close your eyes while playing and is the same thing
