Expanded polystyrene can soften and start to melt at 100⁰c, so not something to worry about even in the hottest of enclosures.

Thank you for this informative video! I've not heard this before about temperatures melting the expanding foam in other builds, so quite concerned - are there any other foams which don't run this risk? Also how heat-safe would a background of just aquarium silicone and substrate be? (I don't need to fix any decor to it, just require a substrate background)

I want to make an expanding foam waterfall for my water dragon. But you've got me worried about fire/heat? How do I counter this?

I might be getting excavator clay as a background and maybe make some hides for my leos. apparently its grainy and chips so I might paint over it to prevent that. do you guys think that's a good idea?

I have own giant african land snail what kind of background would you use ? Iv read silicon and coconut fibre works well One set of my snails need to be keeped at 30c with a high humidity . How did the swells fogger work out

Hello I’m thinking of doing my bearded dragon a bioactive! She has calci sand which we now know is bad so want to change it. Would expanding foam work on the wood okay? It’s the monkfield XL from pets at homes for reference. We have the facilities to move her into a 3 ft enclosure, but the height and depth is pretty small as it’s for our tortoise. He goes out in the summer so we could put her in there temporarily while the expanding foam sets etc. But would it work and is a bio active enclosure suitable for a beardie?

Hello which would you suggest for Whites Tree frogs? At the moment my plan is to primarily do siliconed cork bark to the glass and then spray foam the gaps in between :)

Hmm, no one has mentioned the temperature consideration before when choosing to cover foam with grout or substrate. I will go back and check the product details for the expanding foam. There's a difference between melting and off gassing though, I'd expect. I'm only looking to house animals with upto 32c at basking spot (which would be real rock) and ambient at Upper 20's. Would that be OK in your experience?

Hey, have you found out anything about this? I'm thinking of making an expanding foam background for my ball python and I too have never heard the heat danger being mentioned, with many keepers covering with silicone then substrate or just pure substrate - this has got me concerned though?

A few weeks ago you said that mourning geckos can be housed with dart frogs. Does ir matter what morph they are or can you house any morning gecko morph with any dart frog morph.

Yo U put terrarium in the title when what you should’ve said was vivarium it’s a very common mistake but then you’re vids come up when I look up things about terrarium things and it’s disappointing when I think I’ve found the vid I’m looking for then nope bc making terrariums is not a very common hobby in the KZbin space😭
