good job its nice and simple but coming from a industrial construction back ground and its mainly just me because I get payed to be picky I would have added more structural support and done few things different but no way any one without my skill set would have been able to recreate it so again great job

I worked in an upholstery shop for many years and a angle grinder with a flapper wheel make short work of foam shaping. It does require some vacuuming but it works great.

Also an electric carving knife is great as well.

Love what you did, i did this a few years back with a lot of my enclosures, i used black as underground and dry painted it with grey, so you get more nuance and shadow!

When you put the foam on there I was like omg no that looks so trashy then you started hacking at it and I was like ughhh cringe then you put the cement on it and I was like like wow that looks really cool lol

This is nothing short of art. You've got some lucky reptiles. Also thanks for pointing me to that drylok stuff. I make terrain for my D&D campaign with xps foam, so that's really gonna bring it up a notch!

Thank you! I think almost anyone can learn to do something like this it's just a matter of being willing to fail/make mistakes a long the way in the learning process. Aquascaping will be a part of this channel in the future, I have some unique ideas I want to try!

Truly inspirational! Those blue tree monitors are even more gorgeous than I had imagined seeing them here for the first time. Hopefully they breed for you and produce many eggs and offspring for years to come. Maybe I can buy one someday, lol? Not likely but I can dream.

14:19 I'd put a nice foam pillow in there with a cotton pillow case that has the end tied off. My mangrove monitor knows better than to defecate where it sleeps. I watched this video many times, love the ambiance.

I was half way this build but i made a split habitad deserted for a bearded dragon and a forest like for chameleon and the end result was quite awesome i thank you for getting me started bro

This is a larger version of what I plan on building for my leachie. I can't wait for the more detailed build video so I can start planning. My baby is only a few inches long right now, but I want to start planning and building soon.

@@SpectrumVivaria Since leachies typically live in hollowed trees, I may have to revive your original tree plan and see if I can make it work. I've tried foam trees before and they are tricky. Maybe I should start practicing now or I can cheat and use large cork rounds haha

I have a bioactive substrate but that is only 1 tool in the toolbox for proper husbandry.

I have watched that video 6-7 times since it was uploaded. Your work is magnificent and very meticulous, which is great! I will draw inspiration from this for my griseus enclosure which will be built in the winter. Any advice you can and want to provie, is more than welcomed!

Glad you are enjoying the video so much, thank you! My best advice is to just go for it - do your best to plan and implement the job but it's OK if it doesn't go perfectly or you make mistakes. You will learn a lot from fixing the mistakes and take on that knowledge to your next build. I made plenty of mistakes with this project, but I used it as an opportunity to build my skill set and I still think it turned out pretty good!

Excellent work. I have question if you have a moment. Now that it has been a while since the built how has the drylok on the foam held up. I always had a fear that due to their sharp nails it might not hold up. Could you shed some light on your experience? Thanks in advance. Really awesome work.
