I saw "Inside Out 2" with my little cousins last week, and we all greatly enjoyed it. We get to see Riley and the rest of the emotions evolve, and they depicted anxiety attacks incredibly accurately, without talking down to its target audience.

All I'll say is that I can still remember back when people said that Brother Bear 2, Bambi 2, Mulan 2 and The Fox and the Hound 2 were all considered to be among the most unnecessary sequels ever made, Especially because the plots of these particular sequels didn't really offer much to the stories of the first films.

The main reason why people thought these particular sequels were unnecessary, Is because the first films all did well enough on their own. There was no need for continuations. But like all film companies Disney only made sequels to their animated classics because of cash grabs.

2 honourable mentions (just as good): Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland and Jungle Book 2 With the former, given how Ariel absolutely didn't age in the Little Mermaid sequel, this movie honestly deserves a lot of props for actually growing up and maturing Wendy. And with the latter, given how great both the voice cast and the animation were, this one deserves some kind of attention. Especially how the sequel gave an emotional goodbye between Mowgli and Baloo as well as an intense climax. Both might not be all that great, but there was still just enough decency to make them two of the better direct-to-DVD sequels.

I have so much love for Brother Bear 2. The first soundtrack by Tina Turner and Phil Collins is phenomenal and the soundtrack of the sequel by Melissa Etheridge and Josh Kelley is an absolute favorite! Feels Like Home is my favorite Disney nostalgia song!

I know we waited for 14 years for Incredibles 2 but it was worth it. The best parts of the movie is Jack-Jack stealing the spotlight as he fights the raccoon revealing his many powers, Violet has water coming out of her nose and new characters

My thoughts on each film on the list Cinderella 2: l love a good anthology Incredibles 2: I laugh at times when I first saw it Pocahontas 2: definitely problematic more than the first Little mermaid 2: the animation is a tad strange Mulan II: one of my favourite princess gets sequel mhhh Inside out 2: gave me less flashbacks to Nina and the neurons which I feel was an inspiration for the colours of the og five emotions The return of jafar: very glitchy animation Simba’s pride: I love kovu’s design he’s so cute and this also helped lead up to the awesome lion guard Belles magic world: same reason as return of jafar Toy stories 2 & 3: I cried at the sequel and third one was intense

Lady and the Tramp 2 personally is the best Disney straight to DVD sequel. The songs are so catchy, the story is great (revolving around Lady and Tramp's son Scamp wanting to be a junkyard dog like his dad) and the animation and voice cast is incredible. I totally recommend it

Plus the sequel had a good reason to exist. Disney published a Lady and the Tramp book to promote the movie. After the movie’s success, Comics on the puppy Scamp were made. The movie had a reason to exist, and it definitely deserved to exist since that was the movie Si and Am finally got comeuppance.

I actually think Cinderella 2 was okay. Sure, i will admit it's issues are is that it is an anthology film by having three stories together into one narrative which makes them feel like three episodes of a TV show stitched together (as a matter fact, it was originally planned to be a TV series but it got cancelled for unknowing reasons, so DisneyToon decided to have the three stories stitched together into a feature length follow-up at the very last possible second) rather than being a solid self-contained story for a movie. Jaq's story of becoming a human was pretty dumb, the comedy is over the top annoying, and most of the songs were awful. But it has good animation, great performances from Jennifer Hale, Tress MacNeille, Rob Paulsen, Corey Burton and more, even though it is an anthology film, Anastasia's story was the best part of the movie because it shows that anyone can fall in love, even a villain. It was very cute. I did also quite enjoy seeing Cinderella making changes in the kingdom, it's interesting watching her progress forward based on her charisma and intelligence.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but I just love it. This is literally the best part of Ralph Breaks The Internet: Vanellope meeting the Disney Princesses (bringing back the incredible voice talents of Jodie Benson, Paige O’ Hara, Linda Larkin, Irene Bedard, Ming-Na Wen, Anika Noni Rose, Mandy Moore, Kelly Macdonald, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and Auli’i Cravalho). I know I’m not a Miss Know It All but I’ve been a Disney lover for years. It even won the award for Best Animated Feature, that’s saying something for a Disney Sequel before 30 Disney Sequels that went Straight to DVD. Yeah, I counted. There’s 32 Disney Sequels. Another great part is their new looks that represents their iconic look from the movie. Great work animators and Jaq and Gus!

Tbh, after looking at the movie and rewatching it multiple times, I feel like I'm not truly sure where the hate is coming from. I mean, I know people hate the whole "social media being brought into things that are intended to distract me from the real world" thing, but let's be real, that had to happen in order to make this movie truly work. It even has a good message about social platforms: Don't read the comments. People are cruel and won't be afraid to say what they want, because sometimes they forget there's a face behind that screen - or they sometimes just don't care. But regarding the plot: When you listen to them arguing, yeah, it's kinda out of character, but what best friends don't argue from time to time? And then there's the whole "insecurity" thing that foreshadows what's gonna happen later in the movie - and not just once, but TWICE. Vanellope is struck by an insecurity virus, and later on, Ralph is hit by the same virus, but he was way more insecure than she was (heck, it appears the main thing it caught from her was the glitch - Ralph was emotionally insecure about losing her and their friendship being broken, which was a HUGE problem!). So basically, of course, Ralph will become his own insecurity virus and break the internet! It's due to this why he has to dig inside and realize that he and Vanellope are gonna be okay not seeing each other every second of the day. He had to let her go, as he said. The Easter eggs are also just a nice bonus.

I don't really understand where people get the idea that Kovu is the son of Scar, whether adobted or biological. All we are told is that Zira, Kovu's mother, was a follower of Scar, along with the rest of the Outcasts. Nothing there indicates Scar is the father of Kovu. Just that these guys sided with Scar when he took over the Pridelands, and were banished as a result. Sure he could be, considering we don't exactly know his dad, but still...

If I remember the story correctly, his mother states that Scar hand picked Kovu to be his successor. That's why he is conflicted throughout the movie. It was a life that wasn't chosen for him. So people assume since he was to be the heir to Scar's nonexistent throne, he was his son. I believe that's where the confusion happens. I could be wrong since I haven't seen that movie in probably 20 years, but I always loved it

If Zira was Scar’s mate and Kovu is her eon then it seems obvious that Scar is the father. Plus it is heavily implied that Scar was the mating male of Zira’s pride and every lion pride needs a mating male so before Scar’s death it is implied that he mated with Zira’s pride and that Zira’s being the alpha/lead female of the pride that her son would be Scar’s heir.

Mulan 2 actually is kind of a decent movie. The animation is good and has has a few well done quiet moments. Yes Mulan and Shang fight a lot but all couples fight and that's probably a good lesson to teach kids.

I have seen The Little Mermaid 2 and The Lion King 2, and i gotta say i liked them both, i was a bit obsessed with The Lion King 2 for some strange reason but i think the problem with that movie too is that they pushed Nala and Simba aside and they weren’t as in it as much as i would like them to be but also the fact that they changed character into a girl at the very last second instead of keeping the original idea making it a boy i don’t know why they did that it kinda underscored the whole thing basically and it just scraped a bit of the whole first Lion King movie which was fantastic in a way so why switch that i didn’t like that AT ALL to be honest with you. As for the Little Mermaid 2 i did like that movie and Melody was the first descendant to Ariel, i would prefer that than the lion king 2 to be honest, at least Ariel and Eric aren’t side lined here as Simba and Nala were so that’s something. Also ever since Descendants came out it has like CHANGED the formulating of all the characters having kids now which is fine, i don’t mind that but does that mean that EVERY descendant has a kid, i think they crossed a line with that even though i like Descendants so much.

I thought Brother Bear 2 took place AFTER the first film considering Kenai’s tribe already knows he’s transformed into a bear and his childhood friend turned love interest turns into a bear at the end, who doesn’t show up at the end of the original like she would if Brother Bear II was intended to be a midquel.

Bambi 2 is set during the first part of the film, where it takes place shortly after Bambi’s mom is killed and his dad raises him! The same also goes for The Fox and the Hound 2, where Tod and Copper are in their childhood!

Disney has always been the sequel generated monsters even outside of animated features. I know making live action successors is a different story because that’s basically what every studio does but I can’t help myself from saying that Spider-Man Far From Home by Sony should’ve been a final film of the MCU to wrap up. When new MCU films came around & declining effects & good stories, let me tell you guys. it’s not Marvel’s fault or Disney’s fault, it’s the fans. It was YOU, all you Marvel fans are the ones who wanted to see more from this franchise.

Honestly, the “Beauty & The Beast” franchise should’ve stopped after “Beauty & The Beast ll: The Enchanted Christmas” because despite the 2nd movie not having many good reviews, the animation is actually still good enough. Unfortunately, the same can’t really be said for “Beauty & The Beast lll: Belle’s Magical World” because despite being a slight critical improvement over the previous sequel, the animation is a lot more awful in comparison to its predecessors. At least the 4th & final installment, “Beauty & The Beast lV: Belle’s Tales Of Friendship”, ends the animated “Beauty & The Beast” franchise around a year later.

I actually really like Return of Jafar (though I am willing to admit that could be nostalgia talking as I grew up with the movie) and, much as I don't approve Disney's approach in what that did to Robin Williams, causing him not to come back until the 3rd movie... I think Dan was the only one of the 2 who *could* be Genie in Return of Jafar and the TV series. Rewatching episodes and the sequel that started the show last year, I found myself trying to imagine how Robin Williams' Genie would've sounded in those scenes Genie's in... and it just felt wrong. Dan was perfect for Return of Jafar and the show, leaving Williams as the perfect one for the book ends of the franchise. While I understand the bad blood regarding the reasons... I honestly feel it worked in the franchise's favour. It's... hard to put into words what I mean and this is the best I could do. And I don't get the dislike for Cars 2. I'll be honest, I actually prefer it to 3.

cinderella 2 was supposed to be a TV show but it was canceled so they made the first few episodes into an anthology series. who knows maybe it would have worked as a tv show with episodes more spread out and being their own individual stories the same thing happened with Tarzan and Atlantis 2

Toy Story provided character growth for Buzz as he believed himself to be an actual space ranger, only to later learn that he was, in fact, a toy based off a fictional character. Toy Story 2 then gave Woody character growth, showing that he was no ordinary toy cowboy, but part of a collector's set based off a TV show titled Woody's Round Up. It also gave a call back to a scene from the first film, where Woody looks up at Buzz from behind in Andy's room, this time having Buzz look up from behind a more advanced Buzz toy in a toy store aisle, as well as Buzz repeating a line to Woody that was said in the other direction (by Woody to Buzz) in the first film. In Toy Story 3, it's Andy that gets character growth, as he gets ready for the next stage in his life and has to make the difficult decision of "letting go of the past". Which is, in his case, his beloved toys that he came to love over the years. He does get to play with them for one last time before leaving them behind with a young child as he goes to college. At least, that's how I see the 3 Toy Story films.

I knew Toy Story 2 is at the top of "Just as good, if not better"! The rescue sideplot is a lot of fun, we get to see some expansion of Woody's lore, and we get two fantastic new mainstays in Jessie and Bullseye. Plus, Woody and Buzz's friendship is just *strong* in this movie. From Buzz fighting life on limb to save Woody, to Woody defending Buzz when Stinky Pete insults or attacks him, to their co-operation to save Jessie from the plane!

Hunchback 2 is by far the worst of all the Disney sequels. With Mulan 2, at least the songs and animation were decent. With Aladdin 2 and Atlantis 2, you could give them a pass for being the pilots of animated series (albeit a cancelled one in the latter's case). But Hunchback 2 has ZERO redeeming qualities. It's unnecessary, it's ugly, it sounds awful, it's stupid, and it regresses on the moral of the original.
