Great set to try, we'll see. I did pay attention to the workout. I used to dive when I was much much younger. I'd also do 2hrs swimming, 2hrs diving, 1hr gymnastics, & 1hr badminton , that was my way of working out my ADHD I guess. I just loved the feeling of manipulating your body either in water, midair or testing your reflexes in a quick set of racquet & net. However, at 59 I battle fibromyalgia, MS, and brain ischemia. I don't rely much on pills & meds but rather on movement & keeping my immune system in tip-top shape (also dx w/HIV+since '86). My metabolism has held up pretty good (it's in the genes, my mom is 84,goes to yoga everyday & has the body & stamina of someone 1/2 her age -or better-, my dad is 96,still moves around & has his memory intact. Point being is that despite all the "conditions' in my medical chart, I still try to stay as active as possible, all my lab work checks, cholesterol way under for years -on its own-. I'm pointing all this just to explain that movement & healthy choices in food is the best medicine one could self administer. Aside from my 2hiv pills & Tylenol 4 w/codeine to bring the pain down to a manageable level, I don't take anything else. Every medication has side effects. In fact, the MRIs of my brain throughout the years show the progression of dead areas of the grey matter consistent with brain ischemia. There is no cure (they told me there was no treatment either & basically was told to sit & wait for my brain (& everything else) to start falling apart. I've always been very involved in my care & have spent the time to read on, learn & study as much as I can so I can have an intelligent conversation with my doctors (which hasn't gone very well, bcz doctors cannot tolerate a patient who "talks back" , when my arguments are based on peer reviewed literature, medical & government institutions and data. My research has also pointed me towards seeking & thinking outside the box & learning that it all starts with our gut microbiome & ends with it. The vast majority of illnesses & maladies affecting millions of people of all ages, colors, gender & flavor are not only man-made but we also gladly ingest, consume, handle & breathe the very chemicals & pathogens that are killing us. As long as our immune system is in good condition & the bacteria that makes it possible is also in good condition, good natural foods, exercise & a healthy life style is all we need. I stopped drinking over 13yrs ago -it was always "social" never got out of hand-. I just don't feel the "taste" for one more hangover. I used to smoke 2/3 cig/day but decided to stop killing myself & quit "cold turkey" on my own last August (it was my b-day present to myself!). Doctor prescribed the patch but I chose not to use it. I wanted the credit of quitting all to myself 😁💪🏼. I am lucky that my metabolism has always remained stable (my waist size is now 29, it was 27-28" for most of my life), I don't have a specific "diet" , in fact I don't cook & eat mostly frozen (but as natural as possible & with at least 28g of protein) I try to get organic milk as much as possible but I dunt have a problem w/regular milk. Butter & bacon are my favorite (cut down on the butter but I can still easily eat a whole 12oz pack of bacon in a seating... my weakness. But I guess I'm just fortunate So, adding all that, I can almost say assure that because of the physical activities I have engaged (riding my bike, stretch like hell at home, trying to learn to play guitar, re-learn/practice French, etc) my brain, because of the amazing capabilities of neuroplasticity has "re-routed" & established new connections around the areas that already show as dead in the images. Otherwise my physical & health appearance would have suffered greatly (the way the doctors expected it). I have been suffering -literally- in agony as I push through the pain of neuromuscular atrophy & do the stretches -as mush as possible- that I used to do in diving (I do them in the hallways in my bldg) and also dance stretches (I was a jazz dancer for a couple of years back in '85) bcz if I don't move in more than three days, tendons, muscles & nerve terminals begin to "rust" & ache like hell. But I can't complain, in fact, I am still surprised that at 59 I have the six pack I didn't have when I was younger... Lucky, I guess! 😁💪🏼🌈 Stay healthy & in good health y'all ♥️.
