I admire the commitment to presentation-- that whole beautiful pie for just a few seconds of screen time!

A warning especially if you’re planning something as intense as a quilt, that after the holidays there’s a flurry of people bemoaning that their gifted quilt isn’t appreciated or that it’s on the dog bed or they’re not using the quilt as intended: if you have conditions on how the quilt should be used, it’s no longer a gift, it’s an obligation. If you can’t handle the chance that your gift gets stored in a closet, then don’t give that quilt.

Same is true for hand knitted items. I only give hand knitted items to other knitters! They will appreciate your work. 😄

It's the same with any present really isn't it? Toys etc. You give them because it makes you happy to be giving it and you hope the recipient enjoys it. Some times it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I promise I will treat all quilts with utmost respect! Please send them my way 😊

So so true! I’m a quilter and I enjoy quilting and don’t expect the recipient to have the same joys as I do!

I also planned to create stockings instead of wrapping for my gifts. Last year, I used furokishi.

Love the stocking idea particularly, we had mini ones at my grandparents that went on the tree but had to get new ones that didn't match when there were more family members. If you were able to make your own they could be appropriately mismatched but the same size and appearance for everyone!

I'm making the stockings for my mam and dad 😍 to put a bottle of whisky in and a bottle of gin or wine for my mam 🖤. But I want to put a leather 'folded top bit' how can I do that and still make it look good? Xx

Is that gorgeous rust coloured gingham fabric you use for the lamp & some of the other projects from Spotlight? I think I saw it on discount there and now I'm KICKING myself for not getting any, I adored the colour 😂 but went with a mushroomy purple version of it instead for a top I'll be sewing. Wish I'd grabbed some of the rust colour now for diy's!!
