Money: coming from the US, you might be used to get groceries at supermarkets and eat a lot of ready made food. This will turn out very expensive in any other country! So number one lesson must be learn to cook with fresh ingredients... Adapt to the local food and buy your groceries where the locals buy them.
@angelrenate4 жыл бұрын
Had a friend move to Costa Rica and she said there was one brand of everything (one brand ketchup, one brand bread, etc.) and healthcare is like you get a shot for everything and that's it. Just a shot that may or may not work and send you on your way. So there's that too.
@makanaki5134 жыл бұрын
A good number of African countries have food VERY CHEAP and highly available... n there is a lot of freedom to grow your things. Just learn the local lingo accurately and eliminate the accent d'americano, that twenging makes the grocery prices double in a second.
@makanaki5134 жыл бұрын
@Erich Weiler still doesn't change the Fact that food in Africa is surprisingly cheaper, richer, less likely carsinogenic, has minimal control by governing bodies (which ironically leaves people with a wonderfully array of food choices and an ability to grow their own food n keep their own chikens even in the surburbs). Corruption is another thing. Fun fact, did you know that if Africa and South America decided to not export any of their fruits n raw material 1st world countries would slowly but surely get malnutritioned? The wealth of African soil is the gift that keeps the world spinning. Otherwise, why would Africa be so invaded? I have a theory that corruption is a colonially caused issue since all european countries that had colonies still havent let go of control over the territories they created that we now have to call countries

I am an Black-American living in the Philippines. Just like where you are tissue is hard to come by when you are out in public so you had better carry your own supply. However, over in your home here most foreigners use a portable bidet for hygiene. This device attaches to your toilet and you have a water hose you spray for cleaning. It really is much better than toilet paper and I wished I had this item before when I lived in the states. The locals use for hygiene a little small plastic pot with a handle they put water in in the bathroom. But, I could never use that thing because I had water going all over the place. Yikes!

If I plan on buying a new car, I always rent the model for at least three weeks to find all the quirks.

That song by LTD makes me feel home sick and I’m not even in Ghana. I would probably cry a lot because I’m very sentimental.

That is quite some exposure and experience for your children. With that kind of exposure and experience they will really grow to be strong and survive anywhere in the world. Best wishes in all what you hope to achieve for yourselves and best of all for your children.

#1 rule whenever you move to a new country make sure you know someone. You should make sure that you know a trusted local resident. I can't stress this enough, there are a lot of scammers out there.

Real talk tips. The extra tips are especially important. We are so used to big toilet rolls in the states,but in other countries using the toilet can be hard. Loved the scenery of the video.
