It is a great hymn Hosanna Loud hosannas- I love your little turns really make it very dance like and the great discord at the end of 2.50. Superb solo stop at the end of 3.50 - man you never run out of ideas. BRAVO Paul. That is a very well known hymn at 6.00. Judas Maccabeus gives you great scope for all your inventive playing. I used to love playing Thine is the Glory but he congregation usually became lost most likely it was my fault. "The Day of Resurrection" is a great hymn to conclude an Easter Sunday service. These hymns really show what Easter is all about. Thanks again dear friend. ps a whole flock of penguins came ashore when they heard you playing these.

Hey, lieber Paul. I'm really enjoying your music. I've purchased several selections. I have your Easter/Pentecost collection and hope to blend one of your short fanfares with the hymn "Christ the Lord is risen" for Sunday for our opening hymn. Thanks for the inspiration. Just purchased joyful joyful/Ode to Joy. I see several pieces use the trill in the left hand. I'm use to trilling with two notes, but when it is a chord, I'm not so sure of the technique, any advice would be so appreciated....thanks for being such a blessing. God is using your talents to bless so many of us!!!
@jamesbennett9620 Жыл бұрын
It’s not trilling if it is chords. That is called a Tremolo. Be sure to rotate your hand at the wrist as if you were rapidly turning a door knob to get the best effect on your tremolo. There is an excellent tremolo exercise in the Hanon book of 60 exercises. It is quite a lengthy exercise. I highly recommend you get that book of exercises. Good luck. Practice the tremolo only for brief periods of time so that you don’t strain or hurt your hand and wrist. It’s very easy to overdo.

Paul, You are a very good organist. I wonder that you are not on the recital circuit. I don't know how you gain enjoyment from listening to or performing on recorded music. You have the same effect as a recording except you are playing the notes instead of the original or some other person. An organ, as you know, is a multi-source, stereophonic instrument and listening to these samples organs is nothing more than listening to a recording. The result is a singe source sound - the speaker or headphones and the captures reverberation of the building But it is not accurate as the building respond differently to mass chords, whereas the sampling took place as individual notes and are played back on command. You are helping to eliminate pipe organs, pipe organ builders and maintenance people every time you play one of these synthetic instruments. Why buy a real organ when you can buy one on a disc, and play it from some cheap console. right? At the rate the organ industry is going, there will be very few operating pipe organ in the next 20 years. Only the most historic and notable instruments will be left but who will take care of them. One by one, as we die off, they will fall silent until one day people might wander into the few churches that are left and wonder what that thing is. Some broken down old man will tell them that at one time it was a musical instrument but it hasn't played 50 years. I am seeing this today as churches close and pipe organs are being thrown out or just left to rot in the church, Just in process of finished an organ left abandoned in a church for 10 years. The damage from dampness, dust and lack of care was incredible. So play on, gifted young man, play with your hauptwerk and help to wipe out a few more organs. Much cheaper to use a play-back machine. You are one of the best, Paul. Help save the organs. Young talented boys like you are in a position to do that.
@PaulFey Жыл бұрын
Hey Robert, thank you so much for watching!! While I totally agree with you about the importance of playing the real organs I have to disagree with some of your points. Logistically it simply is not possible for me to record a new organ (real life) for 3 videos each week, so the artificial organ recordings have to do the job. I don’t think that these sampled organs hurt the reputation of our real instruments, with people like me making these sets more known to a wider audience, we may even find new advocates for our real instruments! As a conclusion: A real organ cannot and will never be replaceable with a digital recording, thats a fact - and I‘ll always be eager to record on a real organ if time, people and the church allow it - I promise! 😀
