How to find a forest or even a park everything day in a big city when you work 9 to 17 with 30 minutes to eat and have 2 hours of commuting ? Your advices are so good but not realistic for the majority of normal people working in a city. Also if we would have to do everything needed to get our 4 neurotransmitters happy… either we should stop working or we should have a 48 h day.

It's all about our decisions and what we do. Discipline is about making decisions that are aligned with our intentions. Inspiration may get us started, but it's the habit that keeps us going. Habits stay with us even when we don’t have the inspiration. All of it I grabbed from the book Unveiling Your Hidden Potential

I saw a comment or two about your content being “dead” so you’re getting less views but I think they only feel that way because maybe they don’t find as much value in your videos anymore because they either don’t care or they’re someone who is already very productive so they don’t see value in your videos anymore Of course, new content is always good but i wouldnt want you going into a rabbit hole for it right now, carefully think about it if anything and show us once u find something you like! But I’ve been watching you for like 2 years now and even in videos that overlap with your past ones i still gain new insights from your new ones and I really like what you said in one of your videos “as long as at least one person finds value” in your video, then it’s worth it I am not quite where I want to be in my life yet but Ali, your channel has been such a tremendous influence in my productivity so please keep it up!

I’ve been watching you for 4 years, and I actually think you’re at your very best in terms of how you break down and explain things, plus the production value helps with that at times w images etc. As a busy doctor and part time entrepreneur I find incredible value in your stuff but also look up to you as someone I want to be more like.

This past year I have found that when I am in a very heightened negative state I take a few deep breaths and am able to reassess the situation in a rational manner. It has done wonders for my problem solving tactics. Life has been different since then, I have found peace in the chaos. Through breathing!!

Ali, I am gonna be dead honest, I am inside for like 23hrs of my day. That too, the only reason I go out is to buy groceries and stuff. I have also noticed that I am starting to get minor myopia or nearsightedness because of this. I've got to improve and this video is a big help

Love that Ali is entering his crystal girlie era x But seriously really appreciate how you're using your scientific powers for good, feel like your videos recently have had a real focus on explaining and counteracting these modern phenomena (attention span being reduced, ultra processed foods) as I feel like so much has changed so quickly and it's so easy to let these things take over without them being pointed out to us or us even realising. So, thank you!

I have tried so many different routines but the best I have put together is- 1. 8 hours sleep 2. Gym, 3 days weightlifting, 3 days cardio 3. Before gym cold plunge, after gym sauna and steam room. 4. Acupuncture once a week 5. 5-10 km walk a day 6. Eat twice a day and fast 16-18 hours 7. Focus on mental and emotional wellbeing daily 8. Drink 3 liters of water and electrolytes a day

@magicismagic123 Yes I do but managed my time very well and prioritise sleep. I also work 12 hour shifts but I work for half a year and so much free time at work which they pay six figures for so I'm blessed. I know not many people can do the above due to commitments and the lack of time or money. But that's why I believe it's important to put yourself in a position of power to gain the money and freedom to do things.

Yes! Maybe im just more sensitive, but bc of added stress and an unclean diet, I developed colitis and IBS. Ruined my life for 4 yrs. It’s only this past May (after seeing several Western medicine docs) that I decided to seek guidance from functional health experts and now I’m doing so much better. They taught me these same things! You can not comprehend how happy it makes me that all this knowledge is becoming as mainstream and well known as it is. I've spent the past 5 years untangling my mental and physical health issues etc. and at a surface level everything related to regulating the nervous system has been the key to my improvement. 20 years of very misaligned, unnatural living with little sunlight / nature / movement (I was an avid gamer), processed food, too much solitude and so much more just messed me up and I'm definitely not alone in this. The concept of living as aligned as possible with our human nature I swear is the solution to most of the modern day's health issues. I find myself putting a lot of things in an evolutionary perspective to assess whether something is healthy for me or not. Most professional healthcare workers don't even know this information, speaking from personal experience from the Norwegian healthcare system which is supposed to be some of the best. Thanks for covering these topics Ali and helping spread this information to as many people as possible.

Just wanted to say, I have found so much value and benefit in this series. The episode on dopamine and this episode in serotonin is presented really clearly and in such a digestible straightforward way. And as a healthcare student, hearing "evidence based" just makes me listen harder for some reason! Learning about productivity techniques and methods that helps us live happier and more productive lives by actually understanding how our body works and what we should be doing to make it work in the most optimum way is so informative but also feels more adaptable as it encompasses different things in our lives, taking into account our sleep, physical activity, focus and work as well diet and nutrition.

I live in India and work the night shift, so sunlight exposure during the day isn’t ideal for my sleep schedule, as I need to sleep during those hours. What approach would you recommend for maintaining energy and feeling good? Would exposure to evening sunlight be beneficial as well? Also, would taking a walk or cycling in the evenings help with this? Please let me know.

Thanks for your content, I wanted to ask if you could share the reference from the article you shared in min. 8:48, since I understood in your explanation that probiotics could be an alternative option to antidepressives and I found this affirmation quite risky... Reading all these comments on your content is getting repetitive or monotonous or dull, makes me think if they’re actually paying heed to the content . I am not the person who comments on videos, doing so because I have always felt your videos to be a source of inspiration, information, guidance and support. Be it evidence based study routine, evidence based brain care, exercise, skin care routine etc, all of them impart such great values backed up with solid scientific evidence. The comment about your diet being under your control to a pretty large degree - I disagree with this. Try telling that to someone in receipt of inadequate unemployment or disability benefits and/or using a food bank. Or on low pay and paying a large amount in rent. When we put the responsibility of something entirely on an individual, it neatly overlooks structural and institutional oppressions. Even healthcare staff are impacted - if you don't have time for a break, if you go to the canteen and there's no decent healthy foods to choose for a meal or the canteen is closed, or if you're working 2 jobs to pay the rent. I think it's really important to look at social determinants of health and the bigger picture rather than just the diet chosen being an individual choice.

hey ali, amazing stuff man. I just wanted to ask you about, how do I convince my Mom to not watch her favourite show late at night, all lights out with her phone sticking to her face before goin to bed. She's a working person so its also not like she gets to have a lot of time during the day to get her "very important" entertainment. Whenever I try to convince her to atleast use eye protections (she uses her glasses atleast) like the Night mode or lowering the brightness, or even not turning off the lights until the show's done, she always screams and says that she knows the best for her and I am not qualified enough to tell her what to do.... (i really think that the reason behind this is all the stress she gets in her workplace as the whole office kinda depends on her to tell em' what to do? i hate every single one of her colleagues). Any opinions?
