Dr Stein, please answer my question. I noticed when video people get popular, they stop responding to their long time subscribers. I need help, my skin on my legs has completely changed in the last year, I've been fasting now for 4 years. It's creepy and loose. I exercise regularly, like I've always done but my muscles is like disappearing. It's gross and freakn me out. I've always had awesome muscular legs. Can I get my tone back or is the crepy loose skin a forever now it's obvious from knees to quads. Thank for your help. Unfortunately my primary Dr has no clue.

Dr I do Intermittant Fasting. I eat at around 10-1030am. I eat my last meal (usually 2nd) by 5pm. I'm up at 5am. I have 2 nepressos with Stevia & unsweetened Coconut Milk as creamer. Will that Lil amount of Cocunut milk break my fast? There's 0 sugar in it & 40 calories per cup. I'd like to know. Cuz if it does, I won't put it in my nepressos. I learn to drink without it.

My husband lost all the weight he needed to and is now maintaining. I have a few pounds more to lose but am still losing, slowly. Not bad for 60 years of age. And keto is not meant to be a regimen where you lose tremendous amounts of weight. It's a lifestyle for the rest of your life. Anyone who loses 45 pounds in one month is losing too much in my opinion. @@baileygregg6567

Started with Intermittent Fasting about +3 years ago. Not gonna’ lie, I did it to loose weight/body fat. And it worked fantastically. Lost some weight at the start, then plateaued. Then started cutting carbs from the eating-period and lost the rest I set out to do. That was all in year-1. So why do I still do it.? Simply because I feel amazing! I feel free! No more sugar-addiction and all that goes with it. Plus I save money so it’s a win-win-win all year. Never going back to my old lifestyle again, this has changed my life for the better so why not keep going.?!😂

Pl. tell me if we can have water during fasting and if we can have tea with one tablespoon of milk during fasting.
@sexybrutale7671
@sexybrutale7671 7 ай бұрын
@@veenanarwani761 What you asked the Dr already answered in this vid, pls watch again. Water is allowed and the safest liquid to consume during fasting, which helps you stay hydrated. Tea is like coffee providing caffeine, and you'd like to use whole-fat cream instead skim milk (as long as it doesn't have sugar or carbs in it), but you shouldn't drink too many times during a day, maybe no more than 3 times/day. If you want to be sure how much you can consume, just do a blood test to see whether your insulin spikes up when you drink tea with milk. There's a method of fasting with water only to reduce glutamine, one of the two major fuels that have been found driving almost all cancers: colon, breast, etc. If you're interested in it, you can watch the video talk between Dr. Thomas Seyfried and 5 Minute Body channel about Metabolic Treatment for Cancer: '#1 Cancer Expert: The WORST Food That Feeds Cancer Cells' for more information. This treatment is not yet confirmed officially, but it has a lot of potentials.

I thought I had a drinking problem. But my drinking habits didn't seem to fit the mold of a problem drinker. Then one night it hit me; I had a drinking AND eating problem. Beer wasn't necessarily a "booze" problem. It was a "food addiction" problem. I didn't drink the hard stuff. It was the beer. The "liquid food". And all the other food as well...

I’m learning so much from your teaching. A year ago I realized I needed to do something for my health. I did some research and decided to start a healthy Keto lifestyle. 3 months later I made my Keto meatloaf and my old recipe for my husband. He asked to taste mine and liked it so much that he asked to put him on the diet as well. Shortly thereafter we started IM (eating at 11 am and 5 pm). I had weighed 174 lb. when I started (and on blood pressure meds). My husband was almost 400 lbs. and on 3 medications for type 2 diabetes, as well as a statin and meds for blood pressure. To date I’ve lost 60 lbs. and am off my BP meds. My husband has lost 100 lbs., reversed his insulin resistance, got off his diabetes meds and statins. After being basically sedentary he has started walking as well. It’s a lifestyle for us. Eating healthy has us both doing so much better. Thank you Dr. Ekberg.

Regarding hydration, another reason to drink plenty of water is the fact that the reaction of triglyceride breakdown requires three water molecules for each TG molecule. If you are fat adapted, drinking water gives lots of energy (and some glucose too) thanks to this reaction.

You have changed my life! I came across my first video 2 years ago and accidentally. All that you stated rang true for me. I knew it was so important to share the link with so many in my life that are not healthy. I am a healthy 55 yr old woman on no medications and no negative health issues at all. I thought i was headed to a knee replacement because of pain, i never went to a doctor it just hurt so much. However, after i watched that first video, I cut out sugar for 14 days (even hidden sugar) The pain went away. I was shocked. I shared that first video with so many including my husband. It helped my best friend also; she changed her lifestyle too!. Sadly, everyone else ignored the message of sugar being so harmful, inflammation, etc. I fail occasionally and eventually get back on track (sadly not until i start feeling the effects of the inflammation again usually around the holidays). I usually do OMAD when i am being healthy. I get satiated when i eat, how many calories should i be trying to eat with OMAD. I eat mostly all healthy food,. Mostly organic? i also drink approximately 64 oz of water every day or more and add electrolytes to my water. I know i get less than the required number of calories. Thank you for all the information you provided in your videos. You are a blessing.

Only within the last 3 weeks i started watching a lot of Dr. Ekberg's video. I am giving him a nod above all other health gurus here. Why? His information and explanations are clear, comprehensive based on experiments and research but above all realistic. He takes into account, in my opinion, the nature of man. He doesn't advocate for sudden changes and demands, and you could choose from his presentation how you want to pursue good health. BTW, i could tell you all, from all points, intermittent fasting /fasting on the whole is a cure for the body and for self adjustments where necessary The organs are not at hard work, digesting foods, and therefore all organs could adjust itself where need be, this is my humble opinion. BUT it's a fact that fasting could NEVER be bad for you!

I've been intermittent fasting (between 16-20h per day) for almost 15 years now (at least 5 days a week). 5 years ago I started working as a RN at a hospital, and they have food EVERYWHERE...there's always cake, sweets, snacks and biscuits at every break 😀. I remember how hard it was the first days on the job to always say "no thanks, I'm fasting" and all the obese nurses were shocked and said "Really? I heard that's not healthy!" while munching down on a cookie 😀. I saw it as a test of willpower and nowadays I'm no longer tempted at all. So there is a habituation effect.

@@socratese5 I started it in my 20s when I was doing a lot of powerlifting and eating a lot of junk food. I realized that when I fast for 16-20h I can eat as much of that crap as I want in one sitting and still not get fat 🙂. Also on workdays it's nice not to have to think about where to get lunch and what to get, 'cause the answer is always "nothing". I also kinda stopped being hungry, my colleagues always start talking about how hungry they are an hour before lunch time and how weak they feel because of it, I don't care at all, my energy is on a high level all day long. Also I used to get really tired after lunch and working in the afternoon sucked...on a fast that problem is gone.

If anyone is just starting out and struggling, don't worry, it's difficult in the beginning, don't be afraid to eat when the hunger becomes too hard to take, but before you know it, 2 meals a day will be all you need. I didn't believe it's possible but here I am, 6 weeks in, doing just fine. Just make sure to make those meals big but calorie-smart.

I kept it off for a year, but after while I started eating higher carb food, because I thought it will not hurt I can handle it. So I gained back 10 kg and since then, I cannot lose it. I eat once a day, fasting for a week approximately every three months, and when I eat, I eat very little. My weight will not go down no matter what and I didn’t know why? Your video just explained it, so very much appreciated! I will change my eating habits and I will let you know about the outcome later!

Last January my HOMA-IR level was 3.50. By November 2023, it was down to 1.4, almost the coveted 1.0. I still have to get my belly circumference down; but I’m on my way. Hubby is a type 2 diabetic, and in April is hoping to be off his medication entirely. His A1C was 9.5 in January, 2023, and by May had gone down to 5.5! He’s went down 10 pant sizes since March, when we changed our lifestyle. I’ve gone down 8 sizes. We each have lost 75 pounds! Think about it, we’ve lost a person between us! We have NO cravings, and are far enough away from how we “used to eat”, that “going back” isn’t an option. Thankfully I’ve always cooked from scratch, and have never really used many processed foods. Luckily we both hate eating out, we introduced fasting, which allows us to be able to afford great organic foods, purchased at local organic farms. We stopped eating crap, eating after 7:30pm, got on our treadmill everyday X 30 mins, and kept doing strength training with a personal trainer 2 hours a week. I’ve learned to make my own butter, mayo, salad dressings, sour cream, cottage cheese, and have stopped buying anything “low fat or sugar free”. IF we can do it, anyone can. Having a committed partner makes it easier and keeps you on track. It’s a relief to go to the grocers now, and just shop the outside aisles, staying away from chips, pop, candy, and chocolate. It’s also nice to not worry tonight what’s for supper tomorrow night, because you’re fasting X 36 hours. Good luck! Remember, it’s not a diet it’s a lifestyle or life plan you’re on.

Thank you @henrysponsel853. I've talked about this in some videos. For a rough estimate it works like this: If we call the insulin response to carbs 100, then protein would be in the 10's and fat would be low single digits like 0-3. All depending on quantity of course. 😄

There are two main causes for insulin being produced. First is your basal insulin. This is the background insulin that your pancreas produces on a regular schedule completely separate from what you eat. This is to make sure your body has insulin in your blood because it is an important hormone for multiple purposes. Your basal insulin can be up to 50% of your total insulin (assuming there isn't type 1, taking extraneous insulin, etc.) Second is due to high blood glucose. Most often this will because of eating simple carbs which quickly digest and go into the blood stream as glucose. The body does for two reasons: (1) to get that energy source into your cells so it can be used for energy, and (2) high blood glucose is damaging to the blood vessel walls. It will cause them to become brittle and eventually break. This is why long term type 2 diabetics have problems with their eyes and feet. Those small blood vessels will break and prevent nutrients getting to a portion of those cells which cause them to slowly die.
