Love this lesson. I learned the first three licks last night and I’m having great fun mastering them and embellishing slightly. Can you please do more David Gilmour style licks and phrases- and maybe even teach one of his amazing solos off the division Bell or maybe something more obscure like Mudmen on obscured by clouds? Thank you for all your amazing lessons.Not only are you an astonishing musician and vocalist but you are a class a teacher. The best.

Great lick!! I have one doubt. Its about the B. B´s Box. Why its a major pentatonic? It doesn´t have the 3rd. It is because then you can use the chromaticisms and bend from the minor 3rd to the major 3rd?? I hope you can answer my question. The curiosity is killing me hahah It sounds amazing!

so nice thank you😁 kind of a releif too there are too many blues tutorials that completely ignore Bb
@swiftlessons3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jonathon, yeah it’s weird because Bb is actually a very popular key. I guess most teachers assume it’s easier for people to learn techniques in natural keys, and on dotted frets.
@jonathonrwills18253 жыл бұрын
@@swiftlessons obviously I'm just a new guy in spite of my age but I was always under the impression that it was not only THE key but historically the FIRST key... I remember the BB King Montreal? lecture when all he talked about was Bb. Besides it is right in the Guitar Sweet Spot... anyway thank you...

Odd choice of chords, or are they significant to the lesson?
@swiftlessons4 жыл бұрын
Hey Richard, this backing track is a sort of exercise. It’s a condensed version of the common blues progression that I use to practice “playing through the changes,” which means that each lick leads melodically to the next chord.

I have been playing about nearly 60 years. These licks are nice, however, you need to learn your own...not everyone else's.
@swiftlessons2 жыл бұрын
That’s true, I definitely recommend that students take these licks, mix and match them, and try to write their own using their “raw materials.”
@RedRebel84 жыл бұрын
Great video - but you really don't need to waste timing calling out the string and fret numbers for your fingerings like that when you've the tab included. Once played at regular tempo and one slowed down would do fine.
@willcasson71434 жыл бұрын
Hedrix definitely copied the 2 lick you could hear it in red house
@straydawg20352 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the tabs in the video, but your rhythm transcriptions make my head hurt...you have this tabbed in 4/4, shouldn't it be 12/8? It will make your groupings much easier to read rather than have something like a half note rest that comes in on an off beat or that dotted 32nd note part.
@tr1s534 жыл бұрын
yo, that's the major scale in general, not pentatonic
