Yes sir... this is a really good video. Great drills and didn't realize about the north/south facing courts... never gave it any thought. BUT, when he said the reason, I thought about where the sun is when I am playing on my regular outdoor court! I do get sun in my eyes but only on the lobs... which is so annoying but I just wait for the bounce before hitting it. AND the sun is usually on my left and from the east in the morning. So, now I know why it is set up that way! You learn something new every day!

Glad it was helpful! It actually makes a lot of sense how courts are faced haha. New video just dropped. Enjoy!

Austin could you please explain if you add weight to your paddle at all?

Hey Robert! Yes I do. I put wait inside the hole in my throat because it helps with making my sweet spot bigger and improves hand speed at the net. Hopefully that helps

"Fast": Drill 3-4 times per week (1-2hrs each session) with a purpose for 6-12 months min. 80% drilling vs 20% rec play :)

Dink duel... not sure why you would do both positions when you are directly across from each other as there is no difference between the two positions if you are only using half court?
@pickleballplaybook
@pickleballplaybook 11 ай бұрын
The reason you want to do both sides is because you are going to be the right side player for one and the left side player for the second. Counters, Ernes, and angles are different when you are on the either side. For instance, as a righty, I will erne and counter with a forehand a lot more on the left side than on the right side. Great question!

Great drills, I will try them. For skinny singles, the odd, even scoring explanation is confusing. I like to say both start on the right. When the server wins a point, they change sides to serve.

You're saying the ball needs to land in the kitchen OR on the NVZ-line, but the NVZ-line is actually in the kitchen :) I like to play that dink duel allowing the ball to even land slightly beyond the NVZ-line because that's where you would normally target dinks anyway...

I would suggest adding an ATP component to the skinny single drill when going cross courts. The player who hits the ATP, even into the wrong side, should be rewarded ... while the person who hits the angle shot that allowed for the ATP to happen ought to be penalized.

Absolutely! this is a great modification that I have done many times. It prevents people from hitting their dinks out too wide and setting up their opponent for an ATP. Thanks for mentioning this one!

I just convinced my wife to play with me so i think i have to keep it 80/20 rec/drilling to keep it fun. It'll slow down our progress but it'll keep her interested in the game.

I can't watch this video, it feels massively clickbaity, like the pickleball version of a 'get rich quick" scam video. There's no way any person can get to 5.0 "fast", Tutorial/help videos should set realistic expectations
