After all said and done (not including the servo, all RTR's need them) what is the final cost of the Jato with these upgrades? Wouldn't it be wiser to buy something like one of the Corally buggies?

Only true Traxxas fanbois will appreciate this video, the other 98% of your viewers will go spend their money on a Arrma 3S Typhon or a Team Corally Syncro4, end up with a better, faster and more durable buggy, and probably still have change left over for lunch. 😏

The entire BL-2S line is a gimmick. If its designed to be slow and entry level they need to be in the $150-250 USD price range. They are just upcharging previously brushed trucks and charging a whopping amount more

I've seen a video where someone runs a mini maxx on 3s with the stock motor, just an ESC change, with no issues. If the motor can take 3s in this larger car then going 3s might mean only having to get a $40 10BL60 and putting bullet connectors on the motor. Still pretty bad value on Traxxas, but it means that a necessary upgrade is less expensive.

I really don't recommend doing that, the stock motor barely can run on 2S on stock gearing.

I hope Traxxas reads these comments. I'm not a Traxxas hater and I have a dozen of their trucks (slash, rally, sledge, 4-tec, etc.) and all of them are upgraded to the hilt. I just think Traxxas is out of touch with the macroeconomic trends and the corresponding consumer demands.

The best mod for the Jato is take the wing, pick it up and drop the entire buggy in the nearest dumpster. You've already wasted enough money on it. Cut your losses and buy a good buggy next time. You gotta be a real Traxxass fan to defend this buggy at its price. The 223s Typhon makes this look like a child's toy and the 6s Typhon will make the vxl version look the same if Traxxass ever sells enough of these to actually release it.

I totally understand the need for this video but man this new Jato is such a disappointment for the price. With what it is out of the box it really should be priced more like the beginner Arrma cars. If you aren't a beginner in the hobby and want a backslash you would be better off looking on market place for one. Either way great video as always!

Ooooorrrrr you could wise up and stop letting Trashsuxx fleece you for 20 year old vehicles repackaged with a spare wing from another model, and buy a Syncro 4 which is 100 times better for less money? Or buy a Tekno and have the best performing and most durable 1/8 electric buggy on the market?

It's the same platform, bud. The Slush hasn't been relevant in any form for a decade, any other SCT blows it away in every metric.
