Let's add an EB48 2.2 with real electronics to the comparison. "What RTR junk is better" isn't even a relevant conversation.
@boduke9428Ай бұрын
@@mikescherrer4923depends on the conversation. Are we comparing purpose built race buggies to basher buggies on a race track? That's kinda like saying that race buggy is crap because it won't pull double backflips like my Outcast will. I get the feeling of pride from building a kit but that's not fun to a lot of folks. I doubt many serious racers are gonna buy either of these buggies to race with. Kinda makes that original conversation irrelevant.

Everyone always thinks that lighter is better and it usually is from a durability standpoint. But certain vehicles and locations actually benefit from more weight quite a bit. The weightier vehicles feel much more planted and stable, whereas the lighter vehicles get tossed around and look spaztic. And flying through the air, heavier vehicles don't get affected as much.

I think i finally see the purpose of the Jato. Because of their brands's popularity, low end Traxxas has been chosen at many small tracks for spec racing. I would assume that they specifically built these things to compete only against each other in a spec class. You have a 2s beginner class buggy, and a 4s advanced class buggy. I doubt they were ever designed to ever compete against real 1/8 buggies, just other Jatos. Traxxas engineers know that they cant build an RTR 1/8 buggy that can even remotely compete with the likes of Kyosho, Tekno, Mugen, etc., so they count on large numbers of these things selling, and basically forcing tracks to create another spec class for them. The price is absolutely insane for these trucks, but its a traxxas, so they know people will buy them. Just my .02

Traxxas disguised a 1/10 scale buggy into an entry level 1/8 buggy while charging premium pricing found on 1/8 scale race buggies. This is the biggest scam I've ever seen in the RC hobby!! I wonder if you'd still give the Backslash (I refuse to call it the Jato, because it simply isn't) any praise had it come from Banggood? You paid a premium for this buggy and had to upgrade it right out the box just to make it enjoyable and capable of competing with the Syncro4, yet you still say "they did a good job"? Come on man, call it straight... This Backslash is an embarrassment for Traxxas, a joke to the competition and a scam to the consumer.

It's the same ones who buy the same old decades old platforms or who are lined up to buy the mini Max. Traxxas could put a BL2s system in a literal terd and slap some tires on it and their fanboys would pay $500 for it. It's no different than folks who buy $500 jeans that look like they came from a thrift store. They buy the brand rather than the vehicle. There's no other solution. If everyone bought the best vehicle available or bought the best value for money they'd be very, very few Traxxass sold.
