Get your spouse/significant other involved and find scents that he/she likes. I DIY'd a few products with scents that my husband likes so now he does part of the cleaning (without being asked to, might I add) because he likes how it looks and smells afterwards.

Work with your high traffic areas, not against. We don't have great storage near the main door we use to our home, which resulted in a ton of constant clutter and mess. This door goes right into our dining room so I bought cute bins that live on the windowsill and dining room chairs to capture it all. Now we have a spot for all those random things we carry in AND it's easy to grab and stash the bins away when we have company.

Out of the five in the video today I am saying to stay on top of cleaning! Although these specific descriptions of cleaning have not been the way I think, I am becoming more mindful due to my living style has changed over the years. I feel where you are in your walk of life will affect how you view your cleaning habits. I find when talking about daily non-negotiables I actually always compromise certain task.

I have NO habits right now. I was diagnosed with colon cancer last summer, which followed with my septic tank backing up, so I have things to do and I'm just overwhelmed. Where do I begin? Sorry to answer your question with a question.

I have a couple, but maintaining the shower after every use is crucial for me. I have chronic back and knee pain making scrubbing a shower once a week or so pretty hard and I will put it off until just looking at it makes my back scream. A cloth, squeegee, mild daily shower cleaner and a shower stool live right there in the shower and if I maintain it after every use it never needs to be scrubbed. Takes about a minute and changed my shower cleaning life.

Put stuff away ASAP. Shoes in the shoe bin. Dishes in the dishwasher. Clothes in the hamper or put away in the closet and drawers. My kids are still learning, but it helps so much! My kids are also assigned jobs as well. We all live here and one person cannot take care of the mess of six. We are all responsible for making sure we live in a clean, welcoming home.

Thank you for the useful tips. I recently implemented that I use the towel that I dry myself with to wipe of the fixture after I use the shower. Only the fixture not everything else (that would be gross). It helps so much because it keeps scale from forming and a shining fixture or faucet keeps everything looking nice and fresh. I also strongly recommend to use some kind of (environmentally friendly) acid when you clean your bathroom. It helps keep everything sparkling. I've also found that keeping a spray bottle of my own DIY cleaner and some micro fiber cloths in the bathroom makes me clean more often because I don't have the extra step of 'getting the necessities'.

Wiping my bathroom sink every time I use it keeps it looking fresh, especially for unexpected friends or family who might drop by for a visit. Your cleaning tips are immensely helpful! and your cleaning microfiber cloths are everything you promise. With your DIY window spray, including the peppermint oil, and your big green fine microfiber cloth, my windows sparkle, streak-free, with no real effort!

I always start by making my bed. Then I move onto the place I hate cleaning the most, my kitchen, I feel if I get the worst one over with the rest comes easy.

I use a rule I learned back when I was working. I think it was Jack Welch (if anyone remembers who he was) who said to put a little dot on the upper right hand corner of the things you need to read/attend to for every time you pick them up. If you find papers with lots of dots on them, you are not being efficient. In other words, do it; don‘t wait. That is what I do with cleaning now. If I see a spill, I clean it up. If the laundry needs to be done, I take it through until the laundry is hanging (I don‘t use a dryer). It helps me to focus on what I am doing now … to the end.

Fixing the bed first thing in the morning is a must, no excuses. Before going to bed tidy the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. Takes only minutes and if you get company early in the day you’re set. Yvonne

I'm a renter. Tiny kitchen and bathroom. No space for excess " stuff". Minimal works for me. Except for books, lol.

I hate a dusty floor, cluttered kitchen counters, & pots in dish drainer. I also hate open kitchens. Ugh. I cook everyday, but why would I want to relax or read looking at my kitchen?

1. Pre-treating and 2. Shower squeegy tips I learned here years ago still works so well. Layering (or multi tasking) was my go-to, until SA🇿🇦 started having energy problems and we have load-shedding. It's a bit of a nightmare, depending on the "stage" and you have to adjust things like vacuming to times you have power. Yup, not funny. Stay blessed🦋

Maybe you would benefit from a micro-fiber floor mop. They do some of the same jobs as a vacuum but they don't require power.

I keep my house tidy ~ try to keep everything in its place and that way, everything stays pretty clean and tidy; it is hard for me because I actually enjoy cleaning and find it therapeutic ( I do a lot of thinking as I clean) :-)

I have a fiberglass tub. When I let the cleaner set it often does not clean off the grime until I spray it again. Am I doing something wrong?
@mariegro09
@mariegro09 Жыл бұрын
It depends. You shouldn't let it sit so long as it dries out. It might also be that you need to apply the product twice to get everything removed. Scale builds in layers so you do essentially remove it layer by layer and that sometimes require multiple applications.

Kitchen must be clean every day. Dishwasher Emptied and vacuum has to be run. None of it upsets me because I live alone. I am pretty organized, mostly 😉
