I have a 4 year old cara cara tree, it produced about 35 oranges this year and it's about 5-6 ft tall and 5-6 ft wide. They make the perfect marmalade. They are from Casa de cara cara in Venezuela, my tree is in the ground and I live in zone 8. Easiest tree to grow I only fertilize it in spring and the fruit has never failed to set unlike my blood orange tree. My 10 yr old son calls it HIS sweet-tart tree LOL I am currently trying to keep that kid from raiding them off the tree this week 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was also negative 4 in 1976. And you mentioned Cara Cara Oranges first came to the States in 1980. Which means… if I do the math…. 🍊🍊🍊🥂

They sure taste like a cross between oranges and grapefruits, but okay, all orange (pinkish orange). The outsides look & feel different, too. Very unique. I like!
