They are stupid and filthy creatures that should all be thrown into a fucking inferno. The earth belongs to humans, not long tailed little bastards like rats. Ha! Gotch'a , didn't I? I know how beautiful and intelligent rats are. I should know because they are always so affectionate towards their partners and they hate loneliness. They are an intelligent species and their IQ ranks the same as primates and dolphins. I want rats, I really do, and my 13th birthday is coming up, so perhaps I can know the love of an affectionate and furry little friend along with my Syrian hamster.

+Turtle Tail It's largely folklore, just as with wolves. Rats are extremely intelligent (for example they are capable of metacognition, which is very rare even amongst large animals) and can be very friendly. The only real drawback to them as pets is that they don't live long. If you've ever kept other rodents (e.g. gerbils, guinea pigs etc.) rats are much more like small dogs than they are like other rodents.

Rats are some of the friendliest animals I've ever encountered. They're playful, affectionate, and they LOVE riding around in pockets or on shoulders. Since they only live 3 to 5 years its not a long term commitment either. He used to curl up under the collar of my shirt and go to sleep. It bothers me that some people think domesticated rats are evil and gross. Yes, diseases are more common in rats but seriously? The plague? C'mon people let's be real. Rats are awesome. My friend is getting 2 for X-mas and she couldn't be more excited. Also, just because their eyes are red doesnt mean that they are mean or evil. A rat with red eyes just means that the eyes have a lack of pigmintation.

Rats are very intelligent I have one that lives in a cage without a door in the front room. This rat receives voice commands If I say 'Go Home' it will stop what it is doing and return to its cage to get his reward. If I say 'Cheese Puff' it will climb to the top of a particular cabinet and sit up and demand its reward with a squeak. If I toss a little fluff ball on the floor in combination with with the word 'Fetch' he will bring the ball to me and get his reward. It responds to 'Come here' instantly. My big Tom Cat Mr Black is Very fond of Mr Gray the Rat and the converse is also true. They often snuggle up together to sleep or play chase games and engage in a great deal of mischief together.

This jerk on KZbin named Mike Rodriguez said that a rat killed his friend. He absolutely hates rats and says that all rats should die. From what I've read from the comments on this video, dying from getting a disease from a rat is very rare. The rats don't mean to get a disease!! If we left the environment alone and not keep building stores and stuff every second rats wouldn't ha e a disease! Seriously a playground was built in a field next to my grandma's house where I used to play! Me and my cousins would catch grasshoppers and moths in that field! Now we almost never see and grasshoppers or moths around! We have no use for my cousin's bug catching net and there's dog poop (I'm not blaming my dog, everything poops) everywhere in my grandma's backyard! What I'm trying to do is give an example. We can't even play on the playground because its a school playground! What's the use for building something that we don't need? I know people might not have stores close to them, but seriously! You don't have to build like a million stores!!!!

rats rarely naturally have disease, the one most have is mycoplasmosis, and humans cannot catch that. also most rats are too small to carry rabies and rats have what is known as a "dry bite" anyway. no saliva or barely any is coming out or on the teeth. my pet rats never bite me ever. wilds might have more risks involved, but you should not keep wilds as pets anyway.

I live in Scotland Edinburgh and there is this place called waterfront park. Its like a semi man made lake/river/pond and there are ducks, swans, moorhens and rats. These rats however have it good because the surrounding area is full of food and the people who give bread to the ducks, swans ect also give it to the rats. The rats are chubby, really healthy looking and don't frighten when humans are about. They are seriously quite cute with their big fluffy tummies. So they are more like campside rats minus the human wariness.

Here are 5 facts you DIDN'T know about rats! 1. New York City is full of rats Out of like, any rat fact... that is one that pretty much everyone would know.

1. I already knew all of this because I'm a dumb nerd 2. Most of the footage and pictures used in this was of mice, not rats. 3. Bonus fact, rats have whiskers on their wrists to help with that extra feel to make up for their poor eyesight.

My friends houses basement had a rat in the toilet, i went downstairs into the basement to go to the washroom and i was the only one downstairs and it was sorta dark, i had recently heard a story about a snake coming out of a toilet so i was very cautious, and the moment i opened the toilet lid there was a dead rat just stuck under the water and in the flushing thing >.

Other then the last fact these are so negative! About how rats "take over" or "over colonize". They are smarter then most animals. That is why they keep such large populations. They know how to thrive even in the worst of conditions. It makes me laugh that the bald eagle is held so highly...its a vulture with white feathers on its head, if rats somehow aided in their endangerment that proves how much smarter rats are. Should they not be food for a bald eagle!? It is no more regal then a crow. Crows are smarter yet no one has one as their sigil! I am ranting now but I just infuriates me that any one animal is blamed for being street smart and strong. Funny how the rats are blamed for what they do....when it was humans who intervened and forced them to move about like on ships. All it takes is one male and one female and in a year a small island could be overrun. Thats not their fault, they're just surviving. And to the reader who's friend was injured or killed rats do carry their own bacterial diseases just like dogs and cats and birds. If he died from a rat bite there was already some underlying infection or immune disorder. If a rat bites yiu, common sense says wash the wound and if it looks infected see a doctor and get antibiotics. Rats don't (usually) carry anything that can't be cured by antibiotics! I've said enough. I'm going to go back to playing with my vicious beasts haha

They said it's only possible in old sewage systems. Instead of giving into your fear take initiative and research your building to see if this is even a concern for you. If it is, and it really bugs you that much, you can always consider finding a new apartment. And also while they said "New York" I'm fairly confident they only meant "New York City". However, even if you aren't in New York city that doesn't prevent rats from doing this, but with how many rats are in NYC this is far more likely to happen.
@mizaeldejesus57310 жыл бұрын
i will do some research on my building thanks for the advice

pretty much any animal can have the potential to carrie disease.pet rats rarely do and it's a lot more common for dogs and cats to.the thing the boy died from was extremely rare to get and even rarer still to die from.

There isn't a rat problem, there is a problem with people not disposing of waste properly or buying too much food... letting it go off and then disposing of it rather than buying the right quantity. *Throws burning lemon bomb* (See videos on Portal 2 before you call the police!)

4 those who want rats 1. must be in groups of 2or more 2. I recommend getting them from shelters and rescues 3. watch the brand of food (not everything is edible 4 rats even if it's suppose to be 4 rats so do your research) 4. wired leveled cages 5. do your research (u always need to do research on your pets even fishes)!

I live in Toronto, Canada, and have seen rats in our subways a couple of times. Also, did you know that the muskrat isn't a rat, but a very large species of vole?

A lot of animals have the word "rat" in their common names due to poor perceptions of true rats, genus _Rattus_, for many centuries. The giant pouched rats of Africa (Gambian, South-African, and Kivu) are not true rats either, and placing the name on larger rodents only adds fuel to the fire against rats, unfortunately.

Try showing her the video "12 Things You Got WRONG About PET RATS!!" by The Rat Guru. It makes me excited to get them even though I already want them! :3 Show her when she isn't busy. It's a long video and you want her to focus on it if she is going to be convinced! Also, don't ask her about too much. Don't tell how big males get unless she asks...xD Maybe show her some cute pictures. Tell her that pet rats are like pet dogs and aren't like their wild side like wolves or wild rats.
