I really enjoyed this video, Marilyn. 😊 You unhauled some very interesting books here and gave good reasons for doing so. How exciting that you're planning a trip to Europe! As someone with pervasive arthritis and other health issues who also loves traveling, I think you're making a wise choice to go now. I've been doing a lot of thinking about sorting through my own books. I want to downsize the huge library of (mostly) fascinating books I built up through 33yrs of independent homeschooling - and 50+yrs of reading! 📚📚📚 So many decisions to make as to which books I want to keep! I'm also finding my personal taste in fiction books has evolved over time. So I definitely plan on methodically sifting out books that no longer resonate with me throughout 2025. I think I'll try to tackle one bookcase weekly. It will take me all year, but it sounds like a pace I can handle. 😎

@@WildHeartsandWildflowers hello Kim, thank you for your heartfelt comments. I’ve done a little homeschooling over the years with my four children, and it was very rewarding, especially traveling with them whenever I wanted. That was an education in itself for all of us. I never had a big collection of books because most of my books came from the library. But during these four years of mail Kriaten on KZbin, I’ve built up quite a collection, at least compared to what I had before, which is maybe 50 bucks or less. Now that we have other ways of Reading, I just want to keep the books that are meaningful to me in subway. I pick up a book and if I can’t put it in the giveaway pile, I know there must be a reason As someone who has suffered also from fibromyalgia, bone on bone with hip arthritis, it becomes harder and harder to get around. But I am stubborn and keep on moving. I’m sending you healing prayers and vibes from Hawaii . Aloha

What a lovely selection of favourite books. I loved Suite Française, which I've already read twice, but I unhauled my copy because the font in my edition was just too tiny for my older eyesight. Otherwise, I'm bad at getting rid of favourite books, which is why my shelves are overflowing! I did enjoy the Moonstone - the style actually changes with different narrators of the story so the overwriting is kind of 'in character' I think.

Hi Wendy, I am so happy you loved "Suite Francaise". Yes, the font in books is getting smaller or it might be my aged eyes. It's a powerful book for many reasons.,not the least is the sad true story behind the fiction that's not really fiction. She lived it and made a story out of it. I'm going to give Moonstone another chance in audio next year. Aloha friend.

I love Suite Francaise so much. It is horrible that it was unfinished due to what happened to the author but even in the form as it exists now, it feels epic.

@@SluggishReader Hi Freddie, I’m so happy you read this “Suite Francaise. I’ve never met anyone here that’s read it. It’s epic. It’s sad and it’s true. Because of my heritage it got to me in a way that I could hardly read it. Thank you so much for your comment. Aloha friend.

I need to learn how to do this. (We have _Suite Francaise_ somewhere in the apartment, but I’m not inclined to read Holocaust fiction.) You can always find _Woman in White_ online if you need it.
