Hello bravo for your explanatory video, I also have this camera for a short time, .. I have a little question to ask you if you wash the answer it would be great, my camera does not trigger in normal position on the " white dot (, when I do not put a film in the back / cartridge, .. ... It triggers when I put on the M position (superposition,) and when I put a film in the back / carthouche it triggers at all speeds on the white point (normal position) ... So do you have to put a film on your back for it to trigger? Thank you very much if you can illuminate my lights. Best regards

Great video! I just bought an RB67 and so now am looking for all the tips I can find, and this was really helpful. I've always kept some gaffer tape in my bag, regardless if it was for school, work, or hiking. What I do is take the cardboard core from a roll of receipt printer paper and wrap a few yards/meters of gaff tape around it. I try to carry a silver Sharpie as well so I can write on the tape.

@ 3:08. My PocketWizard Flex transceiver doesn’t fit at all. The offset , focus knob is in way. What model do you use? Well, what offset cold shoe bracket?

Just got an rb67 learning the ins and outs. my dark slide wont stay in completely, always sticks out 2 mm or so, any advice on how to fix that? thanks for the video

Very exciting times for the RB67, I would reccomand to go to a local camera fix shop to take a look, Im not sure what it could be honestly, I always lost the dark slide so often I dont have one in !

You picked my 1st favorite. After a flash of that wasn’t already a given. I absolutely love the left hand L grips on any of my cameras. The Pro L multi angle for RB is awesome. Dual cold shoe to add Voigtlander VC or. I still use a vintage German self timer for each button screw in or cable release clamp on. If new to medium all together or the RB, then a load capable tripod & head to twice your kit More is better & even then a sandbag underneath helps. A flash meter but that’s maybe a given. I highly recommend a sturdy monopod. The prism or chimney finders are awesome. Just heavy. To finalize, gyn membership. Your arms will need it

For some reason KZbin just put this in my viewing list, two years after you created it. Nicely done! If you're looking for a good idea for a video perhaps consider making one on shooting film with strobes. If you search youtube you'll find there's little to zero content of that combination. My (probably wrong) opinion is that A) people find film complex, B) people find strobes complex, so C) the combo is just impossible! I really think a well done tutorial on film/strobes would be very popular and you certainly presented well here. For bonus points include E-6! Great video!

The waist level finder will give you guides for your pictures orientation as well. As a matter of fact, I believe they're build into the camera so have noting to do with the viewfinder you're using. Also, I bought a "Zinstax" back for mine which is a ton of fun and an excellent workaround for the discontinued polaroids needed for the Mamiya back. Great third party accessory as well, in my eyes. Overall very informative video, nicely done!

If you need a longer release do consider an air (bulb) release. I use mine exclusively and find it transfers less vibration. I also prefer type 2 backs as the light sealing is better.

also, one other cavert to the grip, as it uses the "pins" and the socket, so for eg. you can't use it with the 500 mm lens as this has a 'cradle' support ring & plate which is attached to this tripod adaptor as this lens is soo long, it looks like a bren gun ( only as this has a large tube on the front, and the cocking lever sounds like you are racking one); BUT this grip is a good option to hand_hold the system with light lenses and the prism eye level finder, as this does add weight to it, and as you have to hold at eye level, saves a bit of wrist strain.

500 APO is the best accessory of all - I must have shot 5,000 rolls of velvia through mine over the years shooting catalogues - Grattan etc - got it at Jimmy Fong (??) in Hk CIrca 2001 - got it for a song - I recall his little shop vividly - never saw him without a smoker in his mouth - on 2 phones at once shouting in one and listening in on the other - he waved me over and I handed him a locked up 110mm - he threw it on his desk like a lump of junk and pointed to the glass cabinet. Lower, lower he yelled in between the yelling he was already doing I saw the only Mamiya thing in the cabinet and pointed to it and he said "yes you try, saw you photographing by the harbour yesterday" we were - " you westerners stand out a mile here" - (we did). I had to completely re-plan the shoot but so worth it-- the longest lens I had up until that point was the 250 - this was on a different level - the separation is stunning - especially when you apply it at a jaunty angle - so that was sold to me - I popped along the day after to pay for it and pick up the spare 110 which he had already fixed - he never once got off the phone only paused for a drag on a fag and we struck a super deal - later that evening we all met up in a bar called Joe Bananas and all got absolutely smashed - brilliant memories - So that lens and of course the Prism Finder II and the WInder II - makes it all sing and dance properly and naturally get yourself the G3 hood works on most lens down to 65 (??) Nice little film thanks

If you attach the prism finder, you only have angle it a bit to the back and fit the back side where it is going to be and than press down the rest until it snaps in. No sliding or anything 😬 That gave me anxiety 😅

Your prices are a few years out of date. I've not seen a back go for less than $100 for a long time now and the prism is easily $200.

you forgot the most OBVIOUS accessory the .... TRIPOD ! it is an ESSENTIAL for this size of camera ( not for weight reasons), but for stability, as any shake can cause a blury shot, even a slight murmor, as you are holding the camera; this is also essential to use the other IBIS feature.... the Mirror_up mode! as to use it, you fire the camera with TWO cable releases.
