I would add to that white pasta & white rice because all the nutrients have been removed and replaced with synthetic nutrients ( which the body doesn't asborb as efficiently as the natural nutrients that have been removed).
@donwinston Жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with including "artificial" sweeteners, white bread, and most food "additives" in your diet. What's important is CALORIES, and lots of fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans in your diet. If you eat a high fiber diet then some Splenda in your coffee and oatmeal is not going to mess up your gut 'biome". Sucralose is a hundred times sweeter than sugar so you only need a tiny amount. The studies that show effects on gut bacteria involve mice consuming mega amounts of Sucralose.
All sweets that contain lots of sugar are bad for you. No wonder there is so much of a problem with diabetes in children..

One of the things I like about these broadcasts is that doctors with different areas of expertise all arrive at the same consensus - eating a whole food plant based diet - even though they might disagree on some of the minor points. That shows me that they're all doing research and coming to conclusions without simply parroting the wfpb party line espoused by Dr. Barnard, Esselstyn, or any other one person.

I used to eat bacon tempeh in the past until I noticed that three strips have 800mg of sodium! One package goes over 1500mg of sodium. These days I just eat tempeh without salt and cooked in water to limit the advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs). The sandwich is definitely delicious, some tepmeh with tomato and greens with some avocado, fantastic.

Continuous bread dough, microwave oven and toaster oven. I make sourdough "buns" at least every other day. Put some dough in bowl or on a plate. Nuke for 2 minutes(varies with your oven). The bottom of the bun will have some moisture but that helps release it from the container. 5 minutes in toaster oven. Set temperature for crustiness. For the continuous dough, I made the first batch with yeast. I ferment it in the refrigerator. Bake some buns(pizza, flatbread, focaccia, etc), but save some of the dough for the next batch. If you add the same proportions of flour and water, you'll maintain the same hydration. But I just add some water to the old dough. Stir till I get a slurry. Add some flour till I get the dough looking good. Back in the frig for the next time. For something like a hamburger bun shape, a bowl with a flattish bottom should work. Experiment. I use to oil my "baking" dish but found out the steam will help release it. I found no need for special cookware but some silicone bread pans should work.

Any recommendations for toddlers and the consumption of dairy? If they are consuming fat from other better sources,do they need cow's milk? I appreciate any advice
@lesliecurran1704 Жыл бұрын
When you think about it nobody needs milk once they are weaned. That's how all mammals work. So with regard to toddlers no they don't need milk not cow's milk. It's kind of a modern thing to have to have milk for like cereal or whatever. But even like cereal isn't a very good food. It's pretty empty calories. It would seem to me that you could use alternatives like unsweetened almond, oat milk. I have an almond cow I can make my own oat milk, soy milk and almond milk. Almond milk has probably the most calcium.

I have to say, when making sourdough, dont feel the need to feed the starter every day. I make a loaf once a week and feed the starter once a week before making it. Once you get past the first week or two of feeding the starter daily, it can sit in the fridge no problem for a week or longer.

You can get the details of how to use these remedies on the net. We've also had great results using the 17/7 fast - food free for 17 hours, enjoy food for 7 hours, it's very effective. Take care. Circle skittles around a dinner plate,pour water into the center, don’t let the skittles move but sitting in the water, magic will happen. You can also roll up a couple of face clothes, rubber band them in the middle, put them into the skittle water, that will wick the water up and, ooooh. About the Cliff bars - as far as I am aware, they are in he category of "sports nutrition" not a general nutrition. You don't need to prioritize healhfulness of food above all in context of sports nutrition ( specifically, during workouts) Those are manufactured to be easy to digest and provide fast energy. Then there are energy bars which are easy to pack and convenient while providing energy - ex. suitable for longer hikes.
