Northern VA = high cost of living, lots of traffic, road raging on the beltway and I66, extremely rude people, bad attitudes, crass materialism, hot and humid summers, boring/rainy winters, paying useless car taxes even after your vehicle loan has been paid off, living near a city with the most corrupt politicians known to mankind, living somewhat close to a city with some of the highest homicide rates in the country. It's no wonder that most federal and private sector employees I have known have moved as far away from this area as possible once they have retired. You'll find a job here, but you will trade in your soul for prosperity. Move on, we dont want anymore traffic and we don't want anymore ugly, cookie cutter McMansions in place of hardwood forests. EDIT: I was born and raised here and then made the mistake of coming back after I graduated. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't take this personally, I know you are only trying to make a living.
