I switched to detangling with oil on dry hair. I listened to the silly natural hair community on youtube and used to detangle wet. My hair began to shed so much over time. At first I thought it was normal shedding because I usually wear my hair in braids under my wigs and I still had a lot of hair. Over time it became so matted and every wash day was worse. After I trimmed and switched to dry detangling with oil my hair is finally getting back looking fuller, curlier, and softer. Leave the wet detangling for those girls that do the wash and go’s. It ain’t for me😭

Thank you for the breakdown! Come through with this scientific information 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I will say at the end of the day everybody hair is different and some things work for some and not others. I'm loc'd and I combed out a few of my locs and was wetting it and using conditioner. I realized my hair was so weak and so much came out. So I stopped and did it dry and saved more hair. My hair was really ripping while wet. But some ppl on youtube I saw do it didnt lose like I did when they did it. My daughters however, their hair do fine detangled wet. Even when I was a loose natural my hair was super weak when wet too. Theirs can handle it but mine can't.

Cyn can you do a video on medical reasons why your hair may fall out in a certain area and not grow besides traction alopecia? Since I was little I have always had a trouble spot that didnt grow or always broke off. When I went natural the spot shifted to a different area...then shifted again to the side of my head...I completely stopped braids and stuff in that area for years. It was probably the size of 2 fingers but the area grew as wide as my WHOLE hand. My hair would fall out and not get past peach fuzz for a few years then I would finally get it to grow and it falls out again. It's like a cycle every few yrs that specific area comes completely out. I shaved it twice and it seemed like it grew back but I was scared to do it a 3rd time. This time it fell out cause of a blk dye and none of the growth stuff and vitamins I used before worked and it was peach fuzz for 2.5 yrs and the spot just spread. My hair didn't start growing in until I started a nerve medication for something else. My mom believes I have a nerve issue in that area. My doc said a dermatologist would only just give me a steroid which prob wouldnt help. It's been growing for a yr now super slow. It has only grown like 3 inches in a yr in that area. I've also wondered if I have an autoimmune issue or something that I'm not aware of. My mom found out she had a fungal infection on the top of her head but nothing is helping her hair grow at the top and hers is slick bald. She had steroid injections and it did nothing. I would love to send you some pics. You could use them in a video if you would like for demonstration too. I have pics of the area from 2014 to now 2021.

So saying use conditioner after washing hair but don’t use conditioner to combat tangle hair cause I’m confused
@IamCynDoll3 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying. Conditioner is not formulated to detangle your hair. The directions tell you to use after you shampoo not before as a detangler. That’s something social media made up. Your suppose to detangle with oil on dry hair. Your hair is weakest when wet and strongest when dry. If you have patterns that don’t Matt your hair you never need to remove knots and tangles. Conditioner is meant to condition hair not to detangle.

Your not doing it right. What kind of oil do you use?

I wish i could've seen ur videos earlier. I made my biggest mistake when I started to listen to these youtubers. My hair was healthy, full, thick and long. I had to cut my hair from waist lenght to my neck...stop listenning to these youtubers.

so it's not safe to detox our hair using the aztec clay and apple cider vinegar on a monthly basis?
@IamCynDoll3 жыл бұрын
No hun. That’s a fad. Apple cider vinegar is a natural acid and that clay is used to detox the skin deeply.
