Hey James, Great video, as always. This year I tried dissolving 1 TBSP of eggshell powder with 2 TBSP of apple cider vinegar. I let it dissolve for about 30 minutes then water the tomato with it. This is supposed to release the calcium so that it is available. Credit to Old Alabama Gardener for that one. It seems to be working great so far, Here in Charleston SC we are ready to harvest our tomatoes very soon and they all look great.

This year is my first year gardening. Along with other food stuffs I planted tomatoes (multiple varieties, both indeterminate and bush) in 5 gallon buckets. The plants thrived for weeks but quickly outgrew the buckets and started to wither and grow limp. A late frost in May (very rare for Atl. GA) was the second hit and I thought it was over...dead. I remembered seeing your horizontal transplanting in another one of your videos, figured I had nothing to lose, as the very top of the plants seemed healthy. I removed all but the very top leaves/branches (shutes??) and planted the entire 2+ feet of main vine horizontally in a raised bed... My plants are doing fantastic now and are ALL producing flowers and fruit! Thank you so much for this video and all of your content! Very inspiring and educational.

I once learned the best way to grow tomatoes is to hang them upside down eg; hanging basket. This way the weight of the tomatoes won’t make your plant tumble over, the tomatoes will never touch the ground and go bad and snails won’t have easy acces to them.. I may be wrong but I have seen some pretty results because of this. I like your videos tough! Especially the one when you put red stones between your strawberry plants to fool the birds, nice! 👍

James, I watch a lot of your videos... Thanks. Can we discuss your "Blossom End Rot" statements. I think that we may have a cart/horse issue. I believe that Epsom Salts do help with Blossom End rot. Here is why. 1. Magnesium Sulfate will increase the plants ability to pickup nutrients and one of those is calcium. 2. Blossom End Rot is caused by the plants inability to absorb/consume calcium or there is little or no calcium available in the soil. 3. So by adding Epsom Salts you are effectively pre-treating for end rot. If you use Epsom Salts after the sight of end rot you are helping to prevent future end rot.

I'm so happy I found your channel. I've totally covered my garden with deep wood chips. I've also tried some "water harvesting" techniques from other channels. They work as well. We have ever deepening drought here even though the government reports no change in rainfall for over a hundred years! I haven't figured out how they arrive at their numbers. I have a rain gauge and record every drop of rain I get. I've slowly let go of a lot of beloved plants for being too thirsty. I believe watering with city water is wrong, but I still do it to keep things alive until we get rain. Our weather does not support grass , and neither do I.
