I don't know if this anecdote was accurate, but after Diana Princess of Wales' passing, al Fayed was accusing the Palace to have involvement in the 1997 accident. The late Queen then stopped annual order of fruit cakes for Christmas. Or any kind of Royal orders from Harrods.

It was very cruel to go around the food hall for pretty well 😕 the whole podcast. All I could think of was going there and stuffing my face especially of course the cheese hall. The cake and sweets looked pretty good 👍😋😍😌 as well. I want to know who came up with green and gold bags. I didn't realize how many 😳 things were a part of including an aircraft company . Another great podcast but I wished I had had just listened and not watched due to all the food.

I appreciate the original and historical foundational landmark of Harrods - I am happy that at least, they did not take the name of the store away. Mr. Harrod's standard of luxury, quality, beauty, and grace were so English and beautiful. The fact that even when the store burned down, he ardently worked to deliver all orders with unparalleled quality and promptness to some of the most discriminating celebrities and royals, marks his character. Even though the store has gone through the typical buy overs and rode the rough seas of the stock market, it still holds a great deal of that original luxury and quality. I hope the young staff are as gracious and helpful and charming as the staff were historically known for. There are so many wonderful delights in the store, I wont know where to begin. But I plan to enjoy the journey in there. I have to say that I am strongly in favor of dress code for customers! I will leave it right there. LOL I wish the airlines had the same! Blessings.
