Raiding villages hurts you long therm since you still have to improve relations after the war to trade.

The latest update for the game changed production some, if they aren't told what to do they drop to I think like 50% productivity. It's been throwing me off as well. Also I think the characters age 1 year for every 2 in game days, though I could be wrong with that.

HI I have my own playthrough and the bishop of my town just had a bastard child will I have to raise him

I advise to do so since you can use them as knights, cheap soldigers, getting trust from the church or selling them off for relations. Of couse you could also just abandon them, but that is cruel and waste of profit.
