That's the case with most good singers, there is a portion of talent, but you gotta keep training and making it better, you can have a nice voice, but i highly doubt it you can sing like a professional with no training

Great video there. I think you should also check out "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" by Green Day itself. Billie Joe does some crazy high screams at the bridge and it's even more crazy at the song's ending. He does a similar thing in "Know Your Enemy" at the 'gimme gimme revolution part'.

Billie Joe does some good metal-style screams, screams where he’s actually just holding a note and giving texture to his voice as he does. It’s impressive and sustainable long term! I do think the “Want to annihilate this age old contradiction” scream is edited after the point where it starts getting choppy, though, since even with his incredible technique a note like that would be VERY hard to hold for so long. Since I’m a soprano I tend to just hop up an octave for that part so I’m powering through the word contradiction instead of screaming it & can actually hold it out haha

I find that newer Green Day songs are just way harder to sing in general, even the ones that don't seem that impressive on the surface. Anything from the 90s (with the exception of Take Back and Platypus) I find pretty easy to keep up with (to the point that I often find myself making them more complicatedwhen I sing them), but it feels like each album after that has progressively trickier vocals.
