I ran into BJ Armstrong once at the Oakland Int'l Airport on a Saturday night. Hardly anyone was in the terminal. He was just the coolest dude. We chatted about our love of flying on Saturday nights (it's uncrowded)...nothing beats coming back to the Bay Area...coming back to our families, etc. There were probably 25 or so other people in our general area--and NO ONE knew who he was. Well, it’s definitely not an unpopular with certain music fans, especially elitists of any genre, boomers/xoomers, rockers, punkers, metallers, etc. Of course I’m not saying that only close-minded people aren’t into her work, but some of the most vocal critics of her do fall into certain stereotypes. Me? I love her music. And no, I’m not a boomer-targeted teen. I have a very diverse taste in music (I have no limits... be it punk pop, pure pop, hardcore punk, free jazz, hip hop, all forms of electronic music, avant-garde, harsh noise or just about anything, I simply like what I like) and Eilish to me just has IT. My chemical romance. It’s a rock band from the early 2000s and they are really good. The creator of the umbrella academy made them after seeing 9/11. Gerard Way is the lead singer, Mikey Way is the bassist, Frank Iero is the rhythm guitarist, and Ray Toro is the lead guitarist. I would check them out. They have four albums and they are all amazing, I haven’t listened to one song by them that I didn’t like. I would recommend listening to Mama, the ghost of you, the Jetset life is gonna kill you (listen to the ghost of you and Jetset back to back trust me they lead into each other), thank you for the venom, and you know what they do to guys like us in prison.

This is pretty awesome. People need to understand that Billie Joe doesn’t really like doing interviews. He gets shy, and is a little awkward. Which is the opposite of Billie Eilish who doesn’t a give a fuck and has a very out going personality. So for him to sit down this long and talk as much as he did - is a big deal. He must really like her and respect her as a musician. Green Day are legends regardless how you feel about them now. Just consider they were in the same school system as all of us were in the 80s and 90s and get they decided to pursue their dreams and buck the expectations put on most of us. And despite all the drug addiction and mental health issues, Billie Joe is still kicking strong. Still made a life for himself.

Maybe I was too obsessed/Lazer focused on Billie when I was growing up, but I never really saw him as being shy. Especially when the interviews were infront of an audience! He has a way with crowds!
