The acoustic space switch on M-Audio monitors are actually a high pass filter EQ from 80Hz and above...! It trims out the boomy-bass buildup.

I've had a pair of CR-4's and they actually sound pretty good for budget speakers. But there is NO comparison between them and the other speakers on offer here. The step up, even to the Pioneer speakers is unbelievable, and they only get better from there.

The QSC CP8 1000W 8-inch Powered Speaker will wipe out every one of these monitors in a smooth but rugged DJ situation without wearing a pamper on flexibility and power on demand; all of these monitors place is at home for practice only, and even during practice, you may max these monitors out quickly!

hey man could you please give me some advice? i have just ordered my controller and my headphones and now i am looking for some dj monitors. I just need them to dj at home and they shouldn't be that expensive. Maybe around 200 (both monitors together). Or would you say for the beginning just one better monitor would also be ok?
@djkit3 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your budget. If you have a little more to spend, go with a pair of 5" monitors like you see in this video, if not, there are plenty of speakers that come in pairs on a budget, such as the Mackie CR5-X or the Pioneer DJ DM-40s!

I'm a professional DJ, and none of these monitors are suitable for front-of-house or medium gigs; I would use these for close-up personal booth monitors, and even with the booth monitoring phase, these monitors cones being exposed to rugged a to b moving would be a balancing act to assure they make it without getting damage, I guess If Im careful then I might be alright, I would definitely purchase carrying bags for travel!

Hi boss... which ones would you recommend for a home Dj set up... mostly house music...I have a small bedroom...I have the Yamaha hs5 & krk rokit 5 on my mind. My set up would be the speakers are facing me and there is a wall behind the speakers
@TooBarFoo3 жыл бұрын
The HS5's are probably the flatest speakers of the 2 which can help in mastering but they are not the most pleasant to listen to, I replaced mine with KRK's G4's which sound great but are also usable when producing although they do impart a "KRK" sound on mixes. But really, if you are using your speakers for anything other than mastering avoid the HS5. They are designed to master on and they are great for that but no one should buy them as DJ speakers. Just my 2 cents

Hi i am thinking of buying Rokit GP5 G4 monitor speakers to add to my set up, just now i run my controller through a amp with four speakers, my controller has two outputs a 3.5 jack that is connected to my amp it also has rca out which i was thinking of connecting the Rokits to, would there be any benefit to adding the rokits to aid my mixing and are they loud enough for a average size room?
@djkit3 жыл бұрын
The Rokits are definitely loud enough for an average size room! Were you looking to use them to replace the speakers you're using now?

@@djkit thank you for replying, i have denon amp and two denon speakers plus two wharfendal 220 i was thinking of keeping the wharfendales connected on back wall and use the rokits where in front where i mix from, reason being rokits to help with mixing and also for audience quality and help and advice would be much appreciated, and i have the budget for the rokit 7 g4 if you thought the rokit 5 g4 where not enough thank you

Would any of these perform well as (booth) monitors for (mobile) doing, or would I need to go for 12" /15" speakers?
@djkit Жыл бұрын
It really depends on how loud you need the booth to be! For example, I wouldn't recommend 5" monitors for a club's DJ both, but for a wedding they would probably suffice!

@djkit2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! The CR-4s will be fine for a small room, although if you want more bass on your hard core techno, I would go for something bigger like the KRKs!

Had the Yamaha HS5 for a year. They totally lack I wouldn’t recommend them. I’m now on the hs80m 💪🏼
@djkit3 жыл бұрын
What did you think they were lacking?
@TooBarFoo3 жыл бұрын
They are designed as studio speakers for mastering on and they are great for that purpose, but they are not pleasant for extended general listening. I really don't think they belong on list aimed at DJ's. That said, I don't think the HS80's fit the bill for DJ speakers either for the same reason. The HS series are based on the NS10's those were used in studios because if you could make your master sound good on those it would sound good on anything. They are built to sound bad to help perfect a master not to listen to!
