I agree with every point except the self deprecation one. You usually state that making fun of yourself is a good thing. I agree that putting yourself down in a complete negative way looks bad but poking fun of yourself in general can be funny in most interactions with people.

I feel the same turned off way, when the first thing women talk about is their ex or last whoever. It's not that I'm trying to be petty, but after a while it gets so insecure and ANNOYING both. I understand that it hurts, but it's just as insecure as any shyness.

If you're a virgin, you can say, "Yeah I've focused on my career for a while but now I'm excited to date around more."
