Thank you dear English Nut for this lesson .As a matter of fact , in view of the current picture of our society - regressive and dark , I must say that ' Pandora's box ' is opened again and all hell breaks loose . Powerless creatures like us are navigating the ' kafkaesque' situation , seeking solace in the eudaemonistic philosophy - in vain though.

Fine explanations with nice trivia going with it. Never heard the word eudaemonist, and thought it's similar to 'hedonist'. Turns out they are opposites, as hedonism is pursuit of pleasure as the ultimate goal regardless of ethical / unethical means employed to attain it. OTC, eudaemonism is an ethical pursuit of happiness n well-being. IMO, in modern era, extreme consumerism / materialism is hedonistic, while setting n attaining higher purpose in life (for one's own and others' well-being) for larger good (like Jeremy Bentham said) is more desirable. Happy to be corrected.

I remember coming across with Eudaimomia in a quote of Aristotle. I guess both Eudaimonia and Eudaemonia means the same.

Yes, they are just alternate spellings.

Another awesome video! 🎉 Is 'Eudemonist' just like 'Hedonist'?

A hedonist pursues pleasure to find happiness. A eudaemonist seeks meaning in life to find happiness.

Any idea where I can learn the accent that our Doordarshan/Akashvani news readers use. And what would be the name of that accent. It isn't exactly RP, right?
