Whenever I hear Dr Tharoor speaking on topics other than politics, I'm like why this person is into politics! He's cut out to be an ideal professor in English literature and linguistics. It's not only because of his thorough knowledge of the language, but his verbal eloquence, his amazing way of explaining things, his wit, his good humour, and not to mention, that impeccable accent n pronunciation!

I could n't agree with you more! I would also have loved to see him as a Professor of English in any leading university anywhere in the world. But perhaps he delved into politics due to the 'power', that is associated with politics. But having said that I would also like to add that I firmly believe in George Bernard Shaw 's quote.... "Politics is the last resort for the scoundrel". But Dr. Tharoor is no scoundrel, and is definitely a class apart from the multitude of crass and unsophisticated politicians that India possesses!!

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

Hey I'm sorry to contradict your opinion this way. But if you actually notice a little carefully, it's not the fact that he is able to convert sentences into English so fluently, rather it's about how much of knowledge he has gained in the field of Vocabulary that helps him in shortening his sentences. Most of the words he uses, aren't even known by the regular people of Britain as well as America.

Salam & Namasty! Sir I'm a Pashtoon from Pakistan. I've lately subscribed to your channel and found it to be extremely informative and amazingly interesting. The guest, the daddy nut, of this episode of your show, the revered Mr. Shashi Tharoor Sir, is a remarkable person. He's not only the Jack of all trades but the Master of all as well. I can't really find words to express my feelings about the greatness of this man of the men. I'd just say "Je Ne Sais Qoui Tharoor Sir" May you be held in high regard! May you live long! ❤

Arisi (Tamil) -> Rice - via Roman & Geek, but well before English Inchiver (Tamil) -> Ginger, again well before English. Brinjal comes from Persian, and it is also used in Hongkong and China. Amah comes from all over (Portugese, Cantonese, Tamil among many others lay claim for it as a word meaning "nanny") it is the word for mother - which is a version of the universal word "ma".
