It is mind blowing that all passengers and crew, over 300 souls, escaped safely from that airplane. It is a testament to the training of airline crews and to realise that cabin crew are not actually there to serve us food and beverages but are there to save our lives iin moments like this. I was up late and saw the very first reports of this airliner starting to burn. It was quite slow at first with a small series of fires mid fuselage. Nothing catastrophic initially. It was so early into the event that there were scant few details about anything. The passenger evacuation wasn't even mentioned. I am sorry to hear about the loss of life.

According to VAS, JAL 516 was cleared by ATC to land, while the Coast Guard plane was instructed by ATC to "hold." But where was the Coast Guard plane located when it was instructed to hold short of the runway and did it hold? The collision occurred in the dark of night, so a clear video of the collision is not going to be available. But experts will be able to reassemble both aircraft and determine which parts of the aircrafts came in contact with the other, and more importanty where the collision occurred in relation to the runway.

My deepest condolences to the Japan earthquakes victims.. and the Japan 5 Coast Guards .. This runway crash accident is a mirror; an identical runway crash between the USAir and SkyWest on LAX airport in US back in 1991.. (happening same at night time, too) The US NTSB later found that the LAX ATC (controller) was at fault.. She, the controller at the time, instructed the SkyWest plane.. to wait/hold on the runway.. for later instructions for departure… She, THEN, instructed the USAir plane .. to land in the SAME runway.. that the SkyWest is currently waiting for departure, (but TOTALLY FORGOT the SkyWest is still on the runway)!! Thereby, I STRONGLY believe that is must be 1 of the following 4 situations.. which caused today runway crash at Haneda Airport. 1/ miscommunication /misunderstanding between ATC and one of the 2 planes ( Japan Airline or the Coast Guard small plane) 2/ Pilot Error; where the Coast Guard plane was lost while taxi in the taxiway to the main runway at night time.. 3/ Japan Airline pilot land on the WRONG runway 4/ ATC FORGOT that the Coast Guard plane was still on the runway.. , and then instructed Japan Air to land on the SAME runway… which caused the runway collision…

This accident is most unfortunate but still hats off to the men that lost their lives. They were on their active duty to rescue people from earthquake and they stayed on their duty until their last moment. Also Japan should really consider Shinzo Abe’s revision and rearm. This wouldn’t have happened if Japan has enough independent military airbase just like any other countries.

Our Condolences to Family and Friends, However, " WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKES SURE THIS DOESN T HAPPEN AGAIN". ITS a miracle for passengers to Escape. That is a saying you hear over and over, all over the world in Every Country. Not saying, just tradgedys as this but the simplest things and everything in between. This is the world we live in. You can do something a million times, and never get hurt or have any thing happen. Its the million and one that something occurs resulting in injury or death. It Heartbreaking. Everything revovles around variables, conditions, weather, temperatures, shelf life, etc most don t think this way to prevent accidents. As far as I know, pretty much none of what this guy is saying can be substantiated yet. Until the CVRs from both aircraft and the tower and ground comms are gone over, we don't know what actually happened.

JAL has 15 Airbus A350-941s and one A350-1041, the aircraft crashed on an A350-941 (JA13XJ) construction number 538 that entered service in 2021, on the other hand, the aircraft belonging to the Coast Guard, is a 2008 De Havilland Canada DHC-8 Q300 CN 656 nickname "MA722 Mizunagi-1"

Knowing how honorable the Japanese tend to be, I say to the CG pilot-do NOT kill yourself over this! It was a mistake, humans are not perfect and your death will not bring your crew back.
