Those licks are pure magic. The dead notes are the metronome. Both Bootsy and Catfish were also drummers, which explains their uncanny ability to maintain rhythm.

Way to pick something that's not taught as often. 🤘 A suggestion: add those time stamp windows in the description so the students can come back to the video and skip to the riffs they need/want I'm quick enough to pick it up by watching you do it full speed but I remember the days of rewinding through frustrating slow speed riffs 🤘🤣
