I regularly eat Quaker Instant Oatmeal that is 15 years old. I find that the spices (cinnamon ) became less potent over time. I add cinnamon and sugar and also add milk. It is excellent!

Bear creek makes good stuff. I have eaten lots. After years it's still good, texture is just a bit off.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always nice to hear from fellow fans of Bear Creek. They really do have some pretty good soups. Thank you for watching.

Instead of the word Survival I prefer to say Thriving where you are. An alternative to Ramon noodles is thin egg noodles. they cook fast and have eggs and flour in the noodles. When serving a grain, rice, wheat, always mix with a legume. They cook at the same rate and go in the same pot. throw in dried tomatoes, karats, peas, lentils, raisins, fresh diced apple and enough water to make a hearty soup. filling and rehydrates. Have on hand cans of Whole Milk 25% to 28% butter fat. Walmart and Asian grocery stores carry NIDO brand. Many more brands on line. Add to soups or drink for a QUICK ENERGY drink.

You can dehydrate veggies, meat, and make your own. Meals in a jar just add water or put in mylar bag. Im currently working throu oat seale Feb 2018. (I use mylar bags and oxygen absorbers). You can put a couple tea lights under you ramon to heat. The minute rice works well for meals in a bag/jar, add your spices, dehydrate veggies & dehydrated beef or chicken. I love chocolate protien powder.

@SurvivalScope101 I try and be extremely frugal with everything. My wish is to one day get a Harvest Right freeze dryer. For now it's canning and dehydrating. In 2015 I had a compulsion to stock food, I felt prices were going to soar as well as availability. Each payday we bought extras and if there was a sale we bought tons. Once No Frills had bags of pasta for 24 cents a bag I spent $30 and got 125 bags, sealed them up. We are still eating that pasta. The rice would come on sale for 25$ for 40 pound. I would grab 4 at time. That same rice is 46$ and up a bag. It was channel's like yours that guided me along the way. I am glad I listened to instinct and prepared. Went fully offgrid in Jan 2023. Milled wood, built a cabin. First night in cabin was Jan 12 2024. Just got running water in it. Yeah. Still have to plumb tubs, sinks etc. Tons of work but would not change a thing.

@loris2168 - What an inspiring journey! Your commitment to being frugal and preparing for the future is commendable. I built our home myself, week by week, paycheck to pacheck. It sounds like you've put in a lot of hard work, and it's great to hear that you're finally enjoying the fruits of your labor in your new cabin! Thank you so much for sharing your story! Your dedication to sustainability and self-sufficiency is truly inspiring! And it would be nice to have a freeze dryer, though they are quite pricey! Thank you for sharing. Be Safe.
