This video is an excellent example of what these children need in order to be productive adults.

I really love seeing acknowledgement that schools need to develop the whole student -- not just their academic and technical skills. Great video.

I didn't know it, but I have used SEL with my students. Now, I wish that we would use SEL with teachers. Having experienced teachers-bullying-teachers, it is OBVIOUS that SEL is a missing component for some adults as well as for some students.

Lovely video, but we are going to keep saying this until all schools internationally hear this... Montessori has been doing this for 110 years - helping to cultivate the entire child, there is no greater calling!

There is not a single solution for all children. Even Montessori schools are all different.

I liked this, and I am also so sick of my district saying “DO SEL” but never giving us the tools or providing a districtwide plan of action or trainings or mentors or a graphic novel handbook. When I could not teach my content during remote learning due to technology issues one day, my principal said, “just do some SEL stuff”.

Great insight! As a teacher of Theatre it is hard to see so many of my classes being considered "non-essential." Theatre, more than other content area is able to authentically utilize virtually ALL other disciplines as well as authentically build the social and emotional skills that students will need to succeed as they move from high school into college and adult life.

SEL - -an absolute necessity for nurturing successful college students, students who are getting ready for the workplace or those entering military services.

This would be a game changer if it were carried through in each school, by every teacher. We would see much more well rounded students.
