I was considering an Ultima RS or an SL-C but decided to go the GT40 Mk1 (it was the panel contours that did it for me).
@DelCalloway6 жыл бұрын
Gotta give it to the SLC, hands down. I looked at both and when I read you can take how long it takes to build a GTM and double it for for bodywork alone, it was a no-brainer for the SLC. Not to mention the all aluminum monocoque chassis and billet suspension is automotive jewelry.

CRP makes a Diablo that is done correctly with correct chassis and the body panels are all aftermarket replacement. I hate to call it a kit because it's more like buying a Diablo from the factory that is partially assembled. Best Diablo reproduction hands down.

The Factory Five cars are WELL-DESIGNED with attention to detail and even 'Training Classes" available! The GTM is a Very high-performance vehicle! The SL-C is also an Extremely High-Performance vehicle you can take as far as your budget will allow, with remarkable handling and as much HP as you can dare put into it. But for me personally, I Must have a car I can physically get in and out of -- with fractured back and several major artificial joints -- so I would probably go with the Factory Five '33 Roadster, with the removable hardtop...which can still offer some remarkable handling -- considering that FFR uses a full mono frame and 3-link suspension -- and can accept any late-model V8 with 'gobs of HP'...

I have looked at many videos about kit cars. My conclusion is that are all misleading! BEWARE 1) Your "garage" needs to be at least 2000 square feet to hold the kit body and parts 2) $1000s of tools including drill press and lathe to work on parts that don't fit quite right 3) Tools and skills to trim the fiberglass body panels to fit "right" 4) $1000s to get a good paint job you will be proud to show off 5) Tools and skills to disassemble the donor car parts or $6000 to $20000 to buy the parts you need 6) 400+ hours of labor
@macman61073 жыл бұрын
They aren't misleading at all. Most, if not all, state the average build time. They also mention what is needed to build the cars. Your idea of what size garage needed is for you alone. Others build them in garages that are smaller than that. Of course you need to buy other parts. Again most, if not all, very clearly state exactly that. The only thing misleading is your comment.
