What terrible horsepower numbers 580 cubic in 7,000 RPMs and they're only making 755 horsepower. That better be a factory motor with 100,000 mi warranty because that's the level of performance they're getting out of it They're moving 1.5 CFM to make a horsepower Even your standard backyard hot rod motor is 1.35 CFM And supercars are more like 1.18 CFM to make a horsepower So this car is not very efficient at making power from all that displacement However it's right on par with a factory motor. Hell look at the old 1980s trans ams... They had to move 1.8 CFM to make a horsepower but there again those were smog cars this is a freaking race car

NOW THIS, will captivate the younger enthusiasts! And by the looks of it, it seems Front Engine! I wouldn't have my engine anywhere else! (Mostly for maintenance reasons) The one thing that stopped me from buying a GTM is that it was too 80-90s racecar aesthetic. I still think it's pretty, but I never could vibe with it's design as it felt "before my time" I definitely vibe with this design. I hope the orders for this kit become available a few years from now.

The GTM....is mid-engine for a reason. Race a car and you'll know why! It's balanced. Balance isn't just an old 1980's to 90's thing, it's important. Supercar's aren't super that won't take a corner fast! Balance plays that really important part even today!

Indeed, dual overhead cams tend to add a lot to the package size of an engine but generally speaking engines are measured by displacement. When someone identifies engines by their displacement and says “all the way up to” no one would assume he is referencing package size.

Im really hoping they keep the GTM.though. I love the GTM, Daytona Coupe and this model a lot. The Superlite SLC is great. But if They want to remain competitive, pricing is the biggest issue at hand. Modern does not mean better and remember that the GT40 was and is one of the best speedsters out there and its Superformance that has the license to make the replicas. Kind of wonder whose is better qaulity with affordability for the middle man like me. I hope Factory Five, Superlite, Superformace, RCR and other budget super car builders watch and read these comments. I really hope they keep the GTM, Daytona Coupe models all on board and just add these as more model options.

Good work on editing and everything but the script might need some extra auditing before recording. The Small Block Ford 302 and “Massive 5.0 liter” are both a 302. Kind of. The original pushrod Ford 302 was actually 4,942cc or 301.6 cu inches and the new modular DOHC 5.0 liter Coyote V8 is 4,951cc or 302.1 cu inches prior to the 2018 model year when the engine had it’s cylinder bore size increased from 92.2mm to 93mm or 3.63” to 3.66” which increased displacement from 302 to 307 cu inches. which is still a 5.0 liter. One difference between the old pushrod V8 and the new modular V8 is the width of the engine at the heads. The modular engine is several inches wider than the pushrod V8.

They try to sound really smart, BUT. The 5.0 liter is around 302 cubic inches. The formula was created back in the '70s for the TransAm racing series and every manufacturer had an engine in that range. Chevy had the 302, Dodge had the 305 and ford had the 302 (which was actually smaller than 302 inches)

I don't get how "more room" is a good reason to move the engine up front.... when we're talking about a bespoke car. They could have fit the v12 in the back... Like right on the heels of the corvette finally going MR with it's layout specifically to escape the limit they hit with putting down power on the old layout.. this is a really awkward move. Like the #1 question for everyone looking at this is going to be "but what if Instead I modified a C8?"

I don't understand why @4:35 you say "everything from a small block Ford 302 all the way up to a massive 5.0L Coyote." You know those are the same displacement, right?

Yes, the Factory Five f9r with a 2018 Jeep Trackhawk AWD drive train. You can easily get 1000 hp from the stock 707hp Hellcat engine and the Trackhawk drive train can take it...happily. A stock 5400lb Trackhawk will do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. So, a 2400Ib Factory Five f9r with 1,000hp and AWD. Beast Mode.

One trend that bothers me is people using the Ferrari Enzo as a base for another car. They are just too rare and desirable for people to be destroying them. The LS engine is used because they are relatively affordable and easy to maintain. I like some of the lit cars that use them.

The GTM will never be built for 50 Grand. He said the car needs a few bits and pieces in addition to an engine from a Corvette. You failed to mention the $20,000 transaxle from a Porsche. Which are getting harder and harder to find. To do a good job on one of these cars going to cost you somewhere between 70 and $90,000 once it's completely sorted. And the body takes an extraordinary long time to get it to fit correctly. Just in case anybody thinking about buying one now you know!
