These are great tips for beginner knitters and I can't agree with you more. I bought the super bulky yarn early on and realized very quickly that I need more experience. Sure enough, now that I have a little more experience under my belt, I am now able to knit with the bulky yarn and do so with confidence.

It seems like I can't control myself and must jump head first into a project. It's a really good suggestion (for people like me) to practice a new stitch on a Swatch outside of the project you are working on. Thanks!

Hi Nancy I have a question Can a beginner knit socks with guidance ? Our local yarn shop is offering a sock knitting course for beginners The course will be taught with circular needles worsted weight yarn and socks will be knit top down Classes are small max 4 over a three day time frame As a beginner I am thinking of joining the class at some point I need to improve my skills but plan to relax knit for awhile I stopped knitting over the summer I have never taken a knitting class I watched youtube and my friend helped me overcome some mistakes The rest of the time I started over if I could not figure out a solution Your advice is appreciated

I think I'm 3 years too late for the course. Can i find it anywhere? I'm a long time crocheter and yarnaholic with a desire to be a bit more... noble
