What is the best knot to tie a scuba cylinder for safety stop at 5 meters?
@WaterlineShorts3 жыл бұрын
i would go for a round turn two half hitch. not likely to wiggle loose, easy to undo and you can tighten the bight around the neck of the cylinder.

That's a very insecure version of the OXO. I would not trust my boat to that hitch. It needs more trapped friction.

Its actually really secure. Its also simple enough for anyone to tie. The slightly more complicated version requires a turn in the loop (which I would probably use if I were leaving the boat overnight). The problem is that its easy to get that one wrong where this version is easy to get right so as an introduction to knots, this is the better version.

@@WaterlineShorts We can agree to disagree, I don't think this should be a point of pride. I just know that I can't afford to lose a boat and Murphy watches me like a hawk, waiting to do his worst.

@@ScorpionRegent ha ha. Yes thats fair enough. Im just trying to give my reasoning behind putting it forward over other versions. Happy sailing.
