Absolutely Brilliant Video ❤

Good video but at 12:35 it would've been good to prove your point? From what I understand, going back down does solve the problem. It just adds extra risk because if anything happens (like a stroke or something) because of the DCS (that would've happened anyways at the surface), it's much harder to manage if you're underwater. But if the nearest chamber is 6+h away, I don't know if I wouldn't consider going back down (not saying anyone should, but it's a risk management question)

I've never understood the physics behind draining you mask..
@kippihiiri28 күн бұрын
Air is lighter than water, so it's going to rise upwards and fill in the mask from top down. Since it can't escape from the top, air will fill up the mask and push the water out.

What if your tank is full of 100% pure oxygen? Would you still get the Bends? Is pure O2 even an option?
@sarapodwapinska6262Ай бұрын
Well the O2 gets super toxic even in shallow depths, so 100% O2 is not the option, in tec diving is common to use stages (extra tanks) with for example 50% (or more) O2 to do a deco stops that in this case may be shorter than if they’re done with a normal gas (21o2 79% nitrogen). If you dive with nitrox you can stay longer in the bottom but you have to pay attention at your depth because we shouldn’t exceed 1,4 parcial pressure of o2 means usually not more that 30/32 meters, and the absolute lifmit is 1,6 pp of O2 because of the toxicicity of o2 for our brain. So more that 21% of O2 may help us but not to go very deep and also not more that 40% of O2 if we use a classic, recreational gear.

I'd rather explore the woods than going underwater in the ocean. I wouldn't like to scubadive anyway. I'd stay on land.

In order to go to a local dive center like you speak of, does one have to be a certified diver? I am going to be taking classes in the spring. I currently know very little about diving but am so eager to learn and explore a new world 🌊.
