You deserve the growth Adam I love music but I'm not a musician. I often remind my Dad who tries to practice the guitar to listen for the rhythm in music he enjoys so that it's so familiar that he desires to stram in SYC with what he's hearing thus I'll encourage him to listen to THIS specific video since your examples make the point powerfully.

Great video as usual! Here's another video idea for you: I think it would actually be great if you could create at least 1 (probably more as it's quite a big topic) on usage and applications of chord extensions in pop/rock/R&B...I got inspired from your chord progression in this one.

The video is very good, thanks! Just an idea: Could you maybe create a video more on different ballad style rhythm patterns with a melody made up of chords / inversions and melody on top of those? What I mean by that is that you use chords as melody AND play single notes with finger 4/5 on top of the chords too - say you hit a chord on beat 1, then hold it (or at least the chord shell) and use finger 4/5 to play melodies on beats 2,3,4 as an example. Reason is that I still have difficulty with that...Hope I was able to explain it; if not let me know and I'll try to include a video to show you what I mean...

Hey Adam, making a video today is really easy and there are tons of them on youtube, but your teaching skills are amazing and i love it. This lesson is actually really hard for my level on piano, but i try my best and hope there are a few lessons about slower rhythms also with syncopation in the future. So please keep going on your channel and your sympathetic aura. 😀 Greetings from Austria, Andy

Someone that responds to the comments by making the videos people would like to see. Awesome. Thanks, man! ✊ P.S (Having watched the video) I was born in the late 60's and Grange Hill was on while I was at school, so your GH reference made me smile! Funny thing is, I went to school in South London but "The Grange Hill" I now call The Hill Street Blues!! 🤣🤣 Really good video, so much value and the free PDF is massively appreciated. Keep up the awesome work Adam, this is inspiring me to get back into keys playing after feeling jaded with both it and my lack of progress, so thanks for that! ☺

Really love your videos. Had a question referring to a previous video, "Don't Practice Scales" but could apply to any of the lessons. At what point do you recommend that someone move on to the next lesson. In that video would you say it's when you can play the exercise in all keys? Play in all keys at a certain tempo? Or something else? It's helpful to have a guideline for what is a general goal to achieve before moving on to another concept.
@thekeyscoach10 ай бұрын
Hi! Good question! I wouldn't worry about doing everything in all keys necessarily, that's a lot to take on and I think it's better to get things secure in a couple of keys rather than all 12. Longer term we're looking at developing a course where you can get feedback on your playing as you go through the curriculum in the programme... so this might help you get an idea of what to work on and whether you should move on etc. This is coming further down the line! Thanks so much for your support with the channel!

A brand new video has just dropped on the channel, which you might find useful! Particular in terms of finger independance!
@amimusic02810 ай бұрын
Can i ask only one question. Why everyone teaching rhythm goes into crazy chords. Why can't you give simple chords Because we came here to learn rhythm so rhythm should be the first priority. Not some new chord progression and im saying this in a beginner perspective because I'm a beginner. Just take this as positive and if you feel something to say, you can and I'll take it positively. Anyways thank you for the tutorial 🎉❤

I am really trying to learn this rhythm. I am stuck understanding the Em 11 chord. E minor is E G B. The 7th is D, the 9th is F #. 11th is A. Why skip the F# in this chord?
@thekeyscoach3 күн бұрын
Great question - as piano players you sometimes have to make a decision to omit notes in the chord. So here we took out the F#. A chord symbol is more there to be interpreted rather than a hard and fast rule. Hope that helps!
@ricardocadilha580410 ай бұрын
Not familiar with 9ths and 11ths, I'll have to skip this.
