I disagree with having only one sheet set, especially if you have pets. Two is ok to have. That extra one is for that just in case your pet gets sick on your bed at night. I sure don't want to be staying up waiting for sheets/blanket to get washed and dryed in the middle of the night just because I only have one set.

For years I collected Cherry Blossom depression glass. It was fun, I loved each piece and it gave relatives gift ideas. About 2 years ago it dawned on me that I rarely looked at the pieces except for my annual cleaning. So I packed them all up and donated them to our hospice thrift store. Hope that the pieces will sell, someone will love them as I did and the thrift store will get much needed income.

No! Not my Barbie collection! I do have my vintage Barbie collection from 1960 to 1972. They are worth a bit of money. I have 13 of them all dressed in their original clothes. They are up on a shelf that was already in the house when I moved in. I do get a lot of joy out of them. Be careful though getting rid of extras. Take the spatula for example. I had 3 and got rid of 2. Not even a week later, the one I kept broke. It was plastic and does get brittle. Then I had to go and buy another one. It has happened with clothes also. Just really think about it before purging. Nothing worse than getting rid of something then needing it and have to go and buy it again.

I have 4 towels, 2 for me and 2 for my dog, plus 1 face cloth and 2 tea towels. I'm gradually moving over to reading digital books only. Once I've read a printed book, I then pass on to the charity shop or a friend. Printed books take up a lot of space, but digital books don't. Years ago, there was a trend where we all tended to have everyday cutlery, best cutlery, everyday crockery, best crockery, everyday tablecloth, best tablecloth etc etc. The 'best' was only ever used when visitors came, but all of the 'best' stuff had to be stored somewhere in the house. Thankfully that trend disappeared years ago, but I guess that some people who do a lot of entertaining may still do that.

Kitchen was first place i decluttered. I use 1 deep pan with lid and 1 pot for a 4 burner stove. My wall oven doesnt work and i wont replace until it is needed. I have shut off the breaker and now I use it for pantry storage! I got rid of all purses, now I just put a rfid wallet in my pocket, cell in my other pants pocket, and I carry my keys on my wrist with the band its on. I dont wear makeup so i have zero need for a purse. I gave away yarn i dont use and kept only the ones i have projects for. My single socks are thrown out. So im widdling down my excess little by little and am mindful of what i do bring into the house.

I have already decluttered my closet several times. It is insane how much clothes I used to have. IT ABSOLUTELY IS INSANE! 😶🌫 I have donated 7-10 huge bags, and I am still removing things! I am 37 y.o., but I still keep my school clothes! 😅😅😅Certainly, I am a bigger size now, so I am going on with removing things. My husband and I use only 2 sets of bedsheets and blanket covers, but we change pillow covers often (so had to buy 2 more!). It is really enough. I buy the cheapest shampoo and collect soap leftovers to clean my toilet: I dilute it the way you taught us in one of your videos 😋 and add small soap pieces. The old clothes I cut into kitchen towels! There is one more trick my mother-in-law taught me: she cuts a big dish sponge into half. So 1 sponge turns into 2! The old sponge I use to clean the toilet.

I'm so with you on pillows for decoration. I watch home improvement shows from time to time and when they get to the end and reveal the finished project, you see it staged with excessive amounts of pillows. No one can possibly live in those spaces. Where are you supposed to put the pillows you have to move in order to sit down? It is especially egregious with excessive pillows on a bed. Most people only sleep with one or 2 max. The rest are redundant and need to be stored somewhere when you are sleeping. It is maddening.

Here's the hard part I have plenty of room in my closet for clothes because I'm a minimalist however I have a lot of storage of my craft and sewing supplies it would look like your shed. There's just some things we can't minimalize. When I get a fabric and it's a good price when I find fabrics that I could use for my rug making I have to store them otherwise if I go out and buy something it's going to cause me a fortune and it's not even worth having the rug. But I make my own rugs so I have to save up fabric

If I need some new clothes, I can't find anything that I would wear for three or four years. My couch pillows are to support my back, not fill up the whole couch. I have extra bedding, because there have been times when accidents happened and I needed them. I am working on getting rid of stuff, but a week after I get rid of it, I need it. Didn't need it for years, but suddenly I do. I really am trying to get rid of stuff, because I know we need to downsize. If someone just came in and went through the house, I would probably miss five percent. I need a friend that comes over every week and helps me get rid of things. I couldn't live like you, but I am overwhelmed with stuff.

My worst clutter was face creams/lotions. I finally figured out that all I need is one, maybe two, bottles of regular cheap body lotion for dry skin for my face. Yes, body lotion. If its too greasy for me, it simply means my face is not dry and I don't need to use it! Also my second worst clutter and the one that made the most difference when I got rid of it was large furniture pieces I didn't need. I recently got rid of 3 recliners and am waiting on one couch to replace them with. So much more room!
