I just love you and your videos !!! I'm 66, widow since 1990 , had two long term relationships but never found my true soulmate. I still put my makeup on, go to the beauty shop weekly and have my nails done every other week. My sister moved in with me several years ago and she is 69. She is always saying why do you spend time on looking better, we are old........ Well I told her because it makes me feel young and pretty!! Lol 😂 Patting you are beautiful inside and out! Thanks for doing these videos, I have learned so much and you are amazing!! ❤️🙏🏻🌼

Ohh Patti, how humbled I feel having watched this video.. the second I've watched having stumbled upon them.. I'm 50 and am grieving the loss of my 25 year romance. He fell out of love with me and into lust with women near half my age - devastated!! For me now, finding who I am now is where I'm so very lost. I'm not sure of my own value anymore... Having watched this video and hearing you talk about Marleen and Doris... I have realised I can renew my sense of self through the tales of others. I hope I find my radiance again soon.. Thanks to your videos - I now have a better chance! Subscribed! 🙂

I am at the end of my family. Well, other than my children. The sisters, my grandma and her sisters were amazing. I loved her so. These ladies lived well into their hundreds except my grandmother because she got cancer. Thank you for saying you love us. So many are running out of people that say it to them. My mother is suffering now with illnesses. I don’t live near her but I tell her how much she is loved. You are so beautiful and do not look your age at all but more than that you are so kind. I love you and wish you all good things. Thank you for your advice it’s priceless

Your video had me in tears. The beautiful women you spoke about reminded me of my own remarkable mother who passed away at 89, looking wonderful until she died with her sparkly acrylic nails, fashionable outfits, beautiful makeup and well-cared for skin. I am in my 60's and have been struggling with the concept of beauty at my age. You gave me some clarity and peace and I am so grateful. Thank you so, so much for such an encouraging video.

I really enjoyed this video Patti. 3 weeks ago my husband, Dan, had a stroke. We're home now...and he's doing great! I never left the hospital while he was there...but I continued to do my makeup and hair and look nice for him. I even brought a small lamp and roses and from home to make our hospital room cozy. And I always made sure our hospital smelled good! Everyone who came into the room mentioned how warm and cozy it felt! I think Dan felt inspired to try harder to relearn how to walk and use his left side because of his environment...and maybe see that I was taking care of myself and my appearance too. Just wanted to share this...I hope it encourages someone else who maybe discouraged too. Love you, Patti. looking forward to all your stories and videos to come! Diane ~ in Oklahoma!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I want you to know that I nominate this video for the "Best Video" on You Tube for "any age woman". Period. I really needed this exact video, at this exact time in my life and to meet these 2 lovely older women was wonderful and I mean a boon to my inner self.....just what I needed. Thank you also for posting their photos and telling their stores. How wonderful they both are and wonderful of you to take the time to "stop and smell their roses". That's what we all should be doing in life. I was with you 100% all along the way in this video with every single thing you were saying and especially the tips at the end and you gave it the perfect ending..."Just Be You". What wonderful advice. I know why I enjoyed it so much, #1. I am 65 and lost my mom in 1989 when she was only 62. She was the most beautiful, kind and warm Christian woman with a smile that lit up every room and every soul that she met. She did that by just "being herself". She wore only lipstick and used it a little on her cheeks with some powder. She had beautiful features and was a natural beauty. But her real beauty came from within...it was her kind, caring spirit. She would have done exactly what you did with those women...she would have talked to them, exchanged #s and addresses, made note of their birthdays and anniversaries and began sending them cards yearly as well as phone calls. She was just that way. She loved people. She always said to me from as long as I can remember " just be yourself" and, "beauty comes from within". She was soooo right. I see it more every day that I live. I miss her and this video touched me and I thank you for it. I agree with you about the young community on her and their channels and their seemed "self absorption" and it gets me. I can hardly stand when they try to emulate someone else. They are not being true to themselves because they have not reached the age to "find themselves". I feel that it really at the root. They will work on everything they can until one day they realize it really does come from within...beauty and happiness are both gifts that come from within and keep on giving because they give back if they come from the heart. I had wanted to start a channel years ago for older women because I a retired hairdresser and makeup artist and used to do platform work and in salon education for Matrix but I had a series of very negative events in my life that took me down. I also have thyroid disease and along with it came depression. I have had a couple of bouts with it but have been in the most severe bout of it ever for the last 3 years. That's why I needed this video tonight. You know, I always try to let God guide me and let him take the reins. I turned on You Tube tonight to watch a friend's video on here and I did and then something led me to watch yours. I had watched you a couple of years ago but I really stopped watching these things for quite a while. I was watching one gal on here who is about 20 years younger than I and I kind of got weary of all her overspending and over-fussing trying to be everything except herself. I told myself I don't need this video in my life. This gal is right smack in the middle of her mid-life crisis where she is on the cusp of crossing from her 40s into her 50s and it's killing her. I feel as u do about aging. In my head, I feel exactly as I did when I started first grade. Ha. I know you have to laugh at that one but it's true. I always wondered all thru school when would I feel grown up or like a "woman"? Again, ha. I have to say, I have never felt my age and right now I feel 37 and I think it's because mom died when I was about to turn 37. I remember her saying to me she couldn't believe I was going to be 37 because she felt 37..so I froze myself right there in time. I did not do it intentionally but it just happened in my head. I have never felt any older than that day. I live alone and have a 35 yr old daughter and a 26 yr old son and am divorced 14 yrs from an 18 yr marriage. All I've ever wanted was peace, contentment and happiness and now I feel I have come full circle to where I want the most simple life I can have....don't need the frills, don't want all the "stuff", I just want to be healthy and happy. I want to live a long healthy life and see my kids grown and happy (which was all my mom prayed for herself). So, thank you for being you and you are a true beautiful woman who knows herself and believes in herself and in being herself and I hope you continue spreading the word of what it means to age into the best and most beautiful women we can be and how to do it. Thank you and God bless you and your husband and family.

At 64 it continues to be a work in progress! I have always been a primper and a fashionista and no one is ever going to tell me to act my age...because that is exactly what I am doing and I have earned that right! I was fortunate enough to have in my life a wonderful friend who, in her seventies, was beautiful, model thin, and the most creative, stylish woman I have ever known. The had a degree in Interior Design and I met her when she took several of the Architecture classes I taught. She almost always wore red cowboy boots, red glasses or sunglasses, silk or linen maxi dresses, very large, beautiful earrings, a Micky Mouse watch, and she went to a barber and had her silver white hair razor cut so that she could wear it spiked! Every where she went, women of all ages would come up and ask her " where did you find that dress? those boots? those earrings? But what they really wanted was her style and self-confidence. She was just stunning as well as being full of fun and kindness as well. I have really missed having her in my life. She left me a table I admired in her house and I rub my hand along the surface everyday thinking of her. Patti, you are an amazingly beautiful woman but your true beauty shines from within. Many hugs.

Hi Patti, I have always loved wearing makeup, but I have gotten into the habit of not wearing it over the past several years. I have lost my zest, after 2 failed marriages. I am 56 and not happy with aging, but accept it. Your video today gave me a pep talk if you will, to start fixing myself up again. I loved hearing about the two older women, I love hearing words of wisdom from older women. You are absolutely beautiful, and I never would have guessed your age! I thought you were at least 10 years younger. You are an inspiration, because you're beautiful, intelligent, and wise. Thank you, Evelie

I adore you and your videos. I was so thrilled when I found your videos as I was looking for more mature women using makeup. I am 72 and in the last year, my skin has changed dramatically. I mean dramatically! I have been so depressed about it. I had cancer spots all over my legs and had to go thru chemo for those. My legs have little red spots still. My skin is crepey and loose. I can almost handle that BUT my face has taken on some serious wrinkles. I use good makeup, but I feel now it's just too late to fix those terrible wrinkles unless I go have some "work" done on my face. That's not happening. I just got back from a trip to the mountains at a bed and breakfast with my sister in law and brother in law. While there, my brother in law made a remark about the skin on my arms, not positive I might add. I thought I was going to cry. Really it was all I could do to keep from doing it. So, listening to your video shows me I need to embrace how I am today. I do dress young a lot because I like it. Jeans with holes and the like. Lol. I wish my skin looked like yours I would be ecstatic. Thanks again for your uplifting videos and sharing your stories.

I wish I could meet you because you are like a best friend in my head! I also put on my full face of makeup every day whether I leave the house or not, get excited trying any new beauty products, had worked in the fashion and beauty industry my entire career, and love it all! I am now 64-3/4 years old and will be doing the same thing as these ladies when I am 97 years young too! BTW, you're beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, and you have the most beautiful hands and nails ever! I am a licensed nail technician and worked for one of the most upscale full service salons in the Pacific Northwest so I couldn't help but notice your nails and hands......just lovely!

I..loveeeee this topic! I just turned 50, and the few months before I turned 50, I found this amazing community of more mature women on KZbin, and it's totally taken away my fear of aging. So many gorgeous women with amazing beauty and life tips! Ok, as far as age appropriate...when I was a teenager, I heard someone say once "You can't wear sleeveless after 30..." Never forgot that. It made me so mad even then! Now at 50? Still sleeveless. I hate those rules! When it comes down to it, why do we feel any restrictions on ourselves based on age?? But I do....all the time. One of my favorite things to see is a mature woman whose style has gotten MORE unique with age. Bright colored glasses. Sassy hair..Smart clothes. Chunky silver jewelry. It's greatness. But I also love a graceful, feminine, classic woman. We need them all! I loveeeee advice from women a few years ahead of me! Thank you Patty! xoxoxo!! ***And, Doris....Bless her...

I am with you 100% on the do your own thing. Nobody can tell us what we should be doing or not doing at any given age. I've always been one to start trends rather than follow them. I think we have the right to feel great about ourselves and the reflection we see in the mirror. Nothing, in my opinion, makes a woman look more beautiful than the confidence she exudes. Loved your stories about the ladies.

What an amazing video, and a monumental story about two incredible women! I happened upon your video today, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I am 56, and I'm a retired nurse who began watching beauty videos on You Tube almost three years ago to, hopefully, more effectively learn current, and age- appropriate make up techniques to help boost my self image. I was diagnosed with invasive Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2008. Following my mastectomy (and resulting clothing restrictions), and a continued delay in beginning breast reconstruction surgeries, it has resulted in me feeling less confident, less feminine, and rather uncomfortable about my body image, and my overall appearance. Thankfully, I have learned valuable online information that has helped me to feel better about my ability to care for my skin, and to improve my ability to apply make up that has boosted my confidence, and made me feel more attractive in the interim. I wholeheartedly agree that we are never too old to 'primp', and for those of us who enjoy it, it can be a valuable, and rewarding way to devote part of each day to contining important self care as we age. Thanks for your recommendations, and for also sharing the valuable wisdom you learned from Marlene, and Doris! When I nursed, I had always thoroughly enjoyed speaking with, and spending time with older patients, and I've always appreciated my relationships with my grandparents, and many older neighbours, and friends over the years. Not everyone has had the same opportunity, and unfortunately, many fail to recognize just how valuable, and vital the knowledge, and/or advice of our elders always is! I look forward to watching your future videos! Take care, Sherrey in Southern Ontario🎀 +

My mother encouraged all us girls, my sister, my nieces to "dazzle" ourselves up and have our own style. She loved to go out and until around the age of 86 she was out every single day of the week. She would wear her fancy jewelry and sparkly clothes etc. She always appreciated anything anyone would give her and was a friend to everyone. She lived her life to the fullest. My mom would have been sitting here right now enjoying your videos with me. I know she would have loved you! I miss her so much. She gave up so many hours of her life volunteering to make others lives happier. You do the same you give of yourself here on your channel and I know you probably make so many women happy watching. I knew my mother was having a harder time fixing herself before her death. My sister and I would fix her up, curl her hair, make up, clothes etc. and we knew although she was not feeling so well she was ready to go out wherever we would take her.

I have a new best friend who is 87. She is amazing! I call her the bionic woman. She was in a car accident before I met her and has had multiple surgeries. She has good days and bad days, but even on her bad days, she does her hair, face, and dresses impeccably. And she gives to everyone. She ministers at the nursing homes, and is on several boards. And I believe her main beauty is her gentle kindness. Thank you for sharing, Patty.

Hey Mrs. Patti, I want to tell you how I look up to you and your thoughts so much. I am a 48 year old woman in process. :D These stories of these ladies made me cry. My mom had me at a young age of 16 and passed away 9/2017. She passed away at the very young age of 63. What is most hurtful is that her death could have been prevented. Alcohol had such a hold on her...She cared so much for her appearance and I learned lots from her when I was a teen. As I am aging, so many times I wish I could ask Mama what I can do at this age. Things are changing and I am constantly having to refigure things out. Having ladies like you here has filled a very deep void for me. I have worn make-up every day since I was 13 years old. It is who I am. As long as I am able, it will be who I am whether 48, 68 or 98. I just have to figure it out. Thank you for helping me to figure things out. You will never know how very much it means to me. I am in that "beige" era of my life and it is a shock. Blessings to you and Jim.

I loved your tips. I call primping, "Boudoir Time." In Anne Barone's wonderful Chic & Slim book series she says chic French women take regular boudoir time. They escape to their boudoir to primp, plan, recharge, and have quiet time alone. Very important! Thanks for being so inspiring.

What an inspiration u are. I live here in the north east and it seems like women down south are so much nicer than from around here. Thank you for the tips but more so for sharing your stories about the other two women you met. It was a pleasure listen to you. Many blessings to you, your family, those you love, those who you keep close to your heart, and to all you call friend!!

Good talk, Patty, thank you. Often lately, when I am getting ready to leave the house to do a little shopping or just run a couple of errands, etc., I'll take a look in the mirror and decide to take the time to sit down at my little makeup area in my bathroom to primp. I call it "improving my outlook". While I know I could get away with just a little lipstick most times (I mean, who's likely to even notice this 68 year old?), I have realized if I don't play with my hair and makeup when I don't really need to, I won't be able to do a great job of it when I want to look my best. It IS fun and it makes me happy and gives me confidence and I find that I smile more as I go about my day. This practice has also led to my eliminating products more quickly as I discover what works best for me now.

Dearest Patti...I am having my 54th birthday this week and cannot thank you enough for all the sentiments in this video. I ascribe to very much the same thoughts you do about aging gracefully. I recently went away with my younger sister and she made a comment during the trip that saddened me because for the first time I realized that she really had no clue who I am. My sister is 50 and doesn't take care of herself. No hair dye, makeup, nothing. I am the complete opposite. I do my hair, nails, makeup, eyebrows. The comment she made was" maybe as you age you won't feel the need to wear all the makeup. Maybe you will feel comfortable enough to just go natural" Wel!, I wasn't stunned because I've heard this before but so sad that she, in all these years, believes I use makeup etc because I'm unhappy with my self. Or that I use makeup to hide behind. None of this is true. I just want to age gracefully, put my best face forward and live the way that I am happiest. Such a shame that she doesn't know who I am. I take great pride in my appearance and am very proud of how I look and they say I love my life. Anyway thanks for a wonderful video. Enjoy your trip. I eagerly await your next video.

I love you Patti! You always make me want to be better and do better. At 64, a lot is changing for me, but I am going to primp and make-up as long as the good Lord lets me. My momma always told me to take care of yourself, and I have. If we don't take care, who will. Those two ladies really are very inspiring! I loved this video and thanks for sharing with us. Hugs and Love! C

I am 62 and will wear my makeup until I die! It is so important that we as women never lose our femininity! My BFF is Ruth, who will celebrate her 97th birthday this July! Although a slight dementia has slowed her down a bit in the last year, she has always maintained her spunk, takes care of her lovely white hair and nails, and asks before we head down the hall to dinner, "Is my lipstick on or do I need some?" :-) She has been a role model to me in many, many ways, and is even more beautiful on the inside than the outside. Her love and acceptance for people is inspirational to me, nonjudgmental and just plain loving... We all need an older lady in our lives to let us know there are many kinds of beauty, and it comes in all stages of our lives. I loved your video today, Patti. You are so lovely and I always think how much I would love to have afternoon tea with you if we were neighbors. You are just the kind of lady I would love for a friend. xox

I am 77 and currently unemployed. While looking for work I walk one hour every morning and then at home set my baking timer for every 60 minutes and walk around the block. This way I feel like I am getting out plus I PRACTICE putting my makeup on every day experimenting with different looks and I like to dress like my Granddaughter. Health and wellness is my passion and loved hearing your stories of women living life to the fullest.

Patti, I love your videos! I especially like this one because your are so right about daily changes and adjustments we need to make. I myself am 65. I used to be a Bare Mineral gal, but felt as I aged it just highlighted my lines and wrinkles. I just tried their matte version, but the coverage is not as good. I'm going to try the Physicians Formula cushion foundation you recently posted about, because you look fabulous! Your look is still youthful and soft and I appreciate that because you DO go against many of the mature woman recommendations like ditching frosted or glimmery lipstick or lining the lower lash line. And look at you!! You look lovely! I'm tossing out all those don'ts and going ahead with what I like or feel most comfortable wearing! Thank you for being an advocate for "doing what makes you happy and feel good about yourself." You're living proof that it works!!

I’m 70 in a few weeks and sometimes ladies at my small community who choose not to do makeup, hair etc., have made me feel uncomfortable because I still try to look my best- most of them wear no makeup at all ! Now I am wrinkled and don't have the nice even complexion I had but I have decided to start wearing a little make up and maybe get my nails done....something Again I never had to worry about, they were always strong , never needed more than clipping and filing!, I think I was guided to this particular video ! I think you have found your calling Patti. Introducing us all to the wonderful sisterhood we belong to. I used to work elections with many women that were 30-40 years older than myself. One of the women was in her 80's and battling her 3 battle with cancer. But she would work these long days with a smile and all made up with a cute wig and adorable outfit. She told me she got up everyday and made herself up as her way to thank God for another day. Even if that is all she could do. I will never forget her. That was 20 years ago and I think of her so often. Bless you Patti and thank you for sharing with all of us. -Sue in Michigan

LOL! I love when you said "Primping" ...I turn 58 in June and having been diagnosed with LC last year and having a Lobectomy I feel the same way as you and those wonderful ladies do. I am not working now but when I was ppl would always say "Why do you spend all that time putting on makeup and doing your hair every morning? You could sleep longer?? My Mom was much like you, kind, a Lady and ALWAYS dressed to kill, until she was diagnosed with 4th stage Ovarian Cancer. She lost the ability to "Primp" but she was a Beautiful Lady Naturally. My Sister as well, no matter what her LC did to her, no hair, no lashes, no brow, no Matter! She was always full face and ready to Flirt!!! I now take all the time I need to "Primp" myself every day if possible and watch like you the videos to see what may look good on me, and then I practice them! I love it! I find I feel better about myself, and like the way ppl look at me and appreciate the time and effort, it takes to look as good as you can. Just because I have LC doesn't mean I have to roll over and give in.....Thank you for your stories today, I often feel the same when I see Older ladies like us (Well I guess I am not there yet) but I do appreciate the time and effort they took to present themselves as best they can. You are Stunning for 73!!! I can only pray, 1 to live that long...lol and 2 to be fortunate to keep my eye's sparkling as you do? Thanks for your encouragement....

Doris is smart. I know cancer treatments can be life saving for some people and I fully support anyone who chooses to go through them. But I saw my husband, who was initially diagnosed at stage 4, struggle horribly during treatment before he died, and I just don't know if I'd accept that kind of treatment. My mom died at 93. She always took really good care of her skin; even when she was on hospice care, she had those creams on her bedside table and as long as she was conscious, those creams went on her face every single day. Every nurse that came to see her commented on how beautiful her skin looked!!

Dear Patti, this is the first video of yours that I have watched and I immediately subscribed to your channel! I will be 62 in Sept and my mother will be 90 in January. What remarkable women you met! I just loved how you spoke about them and can tell they made a wonderful impact on your life! My mom has been widowed since 1995 and never desired to date or remarry. My dad was the only love of her life. She was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1982 and had a radical mastectomy but no chemo or radiation follow up. She has remained cancer free for all these years with the exception of some minor skin cancer issues, which she had removed. She is a very strong woman and has great faith in the Lord and stays active in her church, still drives locally. She is absolutely my hero! She still wears a little makeup, not full face by any means, but some foundation (Clinique), lipstick, a little brow pencil, and still colors her hair weekly and sets it on rollers herself. I hope that I'm doing half as good as her if I make it into my 90's. Her health is quite good, considering she has stage 3 kidney disease and has to take insulin shots everyday. She also had two stents put in after having a heart attack in Nov. 2015. I lived with her for 5 months after that health scare and stayed with her in the hospital round the clock while she was recovering. She lives in Ohio and I live in IA, so there is an 8 hr driving distance between us. Anyway, I just loved your video and what you had to say about the two women you met and thought I'd share a little bit with you about my mother. God Bless!
