She was in a way a bizarro peach. Peach was originally really quiet and humble while loving to play tricks on people. However, MP3 Daisy was super bold and proud of her beauty while going headfirst with no strategy. An example is their signature items in the first few Mario parties, where Peach uses the plunder chest to steal items and Daisy uses the phone to buy a magic lamp and go straight for the star space

Actually, Luigi's cautious and timid nature originated in the various DIC produced Mario cartoons from the late 80's and early 90's. Nintendo liked the way he was depicted in those, so they simply adapted the personality into the games. Those same DIC cartoons are also where Toad's raspy voice first came from.

Just in case anyone didn't know, Birdo is definitely female now (confirmed by Nintendo) and isn't the only trans Nintendo character. If you've ever played paper Mario 2 and wondered why Vivians sisters hated her and didn't wanna call her their sister until the end it's because in the original Japanese version she is trans (male to female) but because it was "controversial" in the US it was changed by translators, cutting out a small piece of the story.

About Viviana I won't say anything by now... But yes, Birdo is female, since Super Mario All Stars they decided make her purely female, and I am not saying this just because I watched videos from youtubers, that would be poor... I had to search even different manuals, etc. It was hard but yes, Birdo, in the Mario universe, is purely female. Except in Doki Doki Panic! And the description of Super Mario USA is just an error of cordination, remember that gringos just traslated the original manual from Doki Doki Panic! with no more.

While I do agree that Daisy should get her own game using her new identity I also understand why Nintendo hasn't done it and probably won't anytime soon. Most people would assume that a game with Daisy as a main character would also have Luigi as its protagonist, and that is predictable and unoriginal. Nintendo knows there is literally nothing of significant they can do with Luigi and Daisy that can't be done with Mario and Peach, which is why they have never confirmed a relationship between them. As hard as that may be for Daisy fans, myself included, I do agree it's for the best to keep Luigi and Daisy separate in order to increase creative potential for Luigi's Mansion.

I think that the point of "don't have any character" and all of this depends in plot. Nintendo literally made and still making games that everyone in Mario Universe play sports just because yes, and i don't think that they really care about "don't with Luigi and Daisy if can be done with Mario and Peach" since they made Super Luigi Bros for WiiU. They could do something with Wario and Waluigi too, and I think they'd be really funny and interesting antagonists for Daisy. Plot is the answer.

I think we can say that Rosalina changed a lot too. Actually she fights with her friends in Smash and Mario Kart 8. We saw her in Super Mario 3D World as a playable character too, and I think she has a lot of fun in those games. But in 2007, she was a "Sad Girl", alone in the space with the Lumas. She lost her mother, and will never see her father and brother again. (The theories say that Peach is her mother and Mario OR Luigi is her father, so my last sentence could be wrong. But... seeing your family and helping them after you left them, and the fact is that they totally don't know who she is... this is horrible.) She totally changed between 2007 and now. I mean. I feel like this is not the same character. Even her voice changed ! And I'm not talking about her voice actress... even if the first one was the best. But in Mario Galaxy, her voice is soft and calm. In Mario Kart Wii, her voice has reverb effect and echoes. But now she's like "WOOOOOOW" and she became really funny, especially in Smash. I think Rosalina totally changed, and in a good way. She just forgot her sad past.
