@@huzcer well he reached the QF of Wimbledon last year? So he is capable of going deep. He also straight setted Alcaraz, Zverev, Shapovalov and Tsitsipas last year

@@michaelg3671 remember he was in Ruud's section at Wimbledon who is dogshit on grass. Safullin got to QF without having to beat anyone inside the Top 30 then got taken care of easily. That's a fortunate section and run. Shapovalov - come on - that guy hasn't done anything in years. Alcaraz good win but Alcaraz has never even made 1 indoor final in his career even in a small tournament- he's not good on those conditions yet. he beat Tsitsipas in 2022. Zverev is not the level he was. to lose from 5-2 and 3 match points is something unusual - lets face the facts. Good luck to Safullin who did put his comeback in well but he got some bad closing from his opponent here too.

I mean this could be considered a choke because he should have held serve at 5-3 but aside from that pretty much all the MP's were saved with great plays from Roman, either serve or forehand, definitely can't be compared to the Cilic choke, Popyrin played well and shouldn't be too disheartened for AO
