1) counting calories is not necessary, most trackers are inaccurate and just a rough estimate. 2) Cardio is amazing for you. even just walking around the grocery store is cardio. just being more active can be really helpful 3) cardio is not the only way to lose weight. weight lifting is important. the cardio will make u want to eat more. make habits that will fit into your lifestyle. if u don’t like the treadmill don’t do it, find something that works for u. Resistance training!!!! 4) just bc you’ve never been fit doesn’t mean you can’t be fit. “your body type is your body type and u can’t change that” is a very simple saying and it is not true. 5) you do not have to do everything at once. pick one small win or one habit a day

I have Spinal Bifida, paralyzed from the waist down. I use rubber bands to do tone, weights to gain muscle and the arm ergo meter for both muscle and cardio.

I think it would just super help if her eyebrows where filled in without sharp edges on them. Real eyebrows have soft edges and the insta brow is just ridiculous looking.

@@drtechindia i think they look like that bc they were dyed?? I thought she was a natural red head but her brows look freshly painted on... It's all I've been able to focus on 😭 she's looks gorgeous still, just can't stop looking at those brows

I'm a criminology student and one of the reasons Sheldon developed his body types was to find a link between body types and the commission of crime, so nothing to do with health and fitness at all! Loved the video :)

I'm in that weird "skinny fat" zone and sooo confused by all the different takes people have on losing weight and gaining muscle. In the last couple of weeks I've been able to build some muscle, but I don't really see that I'm loosing any body fat, even though I'm working out 5 times a weak. It's just a little frustrating and I just don't know what's right and wrong, if I should bulk or cut first or whatever, some say do cardio, others say don't, some say do a split workout, others say do full-body workouts etc. I don't want to loose the progress I have made by eating less, but this way I just don't feel comfortable in my body either. Aarrgh, everything is so overwhelming when you're starting out.

Well I’m not expert, but keep up with the weight training! It’ll do you a lot of good like me because before I started, I was too lean for my liking. Fat loss is mostly diet, so eating less processed foods and sugar is a good way to have a healthier diet. I have cut out a lot of wheat and snack foods, and I have noticed a different in my stomach fat. I can’t stand long distance running, but on the days where you don’t feel like lifting weights, I would recommend full body yoga and hit workouts :) hope this helps

Another thing, the journey of weight training is a long one. Building mass or defined muscle takes years or consistent effort:) don’t be discouraged

I'm not an expert, only a fitness enthusiast, but diet is the important factor, eating more protein and avoiding over processed and sugary stuff, keep up with the weight training to gain muscle but keep in mind building muscle is a slow process,

AliaslsailA i feel your struggle so much!!!!! It’s so hard I’m good with my muscle but now I’m too small / too skinny supposedly . But I feel like my arms are too fat but I want to grow my butt . I don’t want to eat too much or too little 😩

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you you can’t build muscle and lose fat at the same time. You can absolutely build and maintain muscle in a calorie deficit provided you already have extra body fat (a.k.a as long as you’re not already shredded). Eat enough protein and you won’t lose your results, I personally aim for at least 80-100 grams a day. Trust me. There’s no secret cheat code or combination of things you have to do. The real secret is consistency and dedication. For reference, I lost 40 pounds of fat & I’m currently putting on some muscle while slowly chipping away at the stubborn fat I have left. You’ve got this!

I love how you’re simplifying the process, there are so many discouraging myths out there that were making it hard for me to just start or adhere to the process - especially having a perfectionist mentality. This is truly helpful thank youu ❤️❤️

Honestly I love Abby so much, and I'm really new to this channel. She one of the only fitness KZbinrs that seemed legit and honest. I subbed after the first video I saw. She inspired me to start my fitness journey three days ago, and I don't feel like giving up which is huge

I have lost 85 pounds and have 20 pounds to go roughly until my initial goal. I needed this video. I feel like I'm battling harder now than I did at the start to get to a healthy weight.

Truth. I have the best results with weights and cardio, which if you check studies show that yes one or the other results in weight loss when measured with a good diet, but doing both actually showed better results for overall fat loss.

Kate i seriously was a cardiophobe because of all the miss-information out there and i was like iam gonna only do weights and “shockingly” never lost a a kilo i started doing cardio three months ago and the 5 kilos i wanted to lose just vanished, i didn’t lower my calories and guess what i did not feel hungrier because i did not go crazy with the cardio

Tonia Murray walking is cardio, do you hate walking? That is like the most basic thing a human can do after breathing and shitting. Seriously though your heart is a muscle too treat it well it is keeping you alive you know. I stand by what i said stop your cardiophobia. I can list a thousand forms of cardio it doesn’t have to be running, use your imagination.

I love that everything you're saying is what I have realized for myself over the years! I used to overwhelm myself by incorporating changes for fitness all at once and it always left me burnt out. I wish I knew this from the start. This is such a great video!

I've in a roller coaster with my weight the last few years that it's nuts, all related to my insulin resistance and well, bad eating habits. Quarantine has made it harder for me to exercise, it's been all work no exercise. I'm so joining this challenge to get back in track! You are a rockstar to me Abby. Thank you!

I've been watching Abby's videos for over a year, and at first, I was intimidated by the machines she uses at the gym, and then in January, I injured by back with a herniated disk and had to stop exercising all together. Now we're approaching June and I feel that I might finally be able to participate in this challenge. I'm super excited and I'm definitely going to try my best!

I started my fitness journey when you posted your second HIIT video and I’ve been doing 5 days of workouts a week. I do 2 hiit workouts and three days where i run and then do some exercises for about 20 mins. I find the hardest is eating « well » with this quarantine, im not able togo get my own groceries, so i kinda have to do with what i have.. stopping the snacking is really hard! I did order some gingins since you spoke about them!! Looking forward on trying the made to move it challenge! Itll be great to have some structure and different types of workouts every week! Thanks so much for all you motivating!! Wouldn’t have started this without it!

The snacking is my hardest thing too, I started her fitness program and they have a lot of great recipes but it’s been hard not to drink a lot of soda or chow down chips in one go right now

The thing that worked the best for me to stop bad snacking is to replace what I used to snack with low calorie good stuffs that I prepare, or just with delicious cakes with no sugar. And during normal meals I eat A LOT of vegetables, that's how I notice great changes (without forgetting some proteins). It's low caloric but it's filling the stomach! And of course it's just great for health. The cons is that you have to go to grocery store more often... Good luck from France!!! Stay strong during quarantine.

I've been chunky and brainwashed with workout myths almost my entire adolescence. Now that I'm an adult I've been trying to take better care of myself. So I just love Abby and her channel! There's just something so pleasant and encouraging about the way she talks about weightloss and it really helps that she backs up a lot of what she's saying with research. Will definitely try to join in on the made to move it challenge! (Although I still live with my parents and will have difficulty with the food parts, I guess I'll just have to do my best with CICO)

I’m on a 1700 calories! I’ve used a few things but cardio is one of them to aid me in my 72 pounds weight lost. Stay active

L A that happened to me because before I used to eat barely 900 calories and my metabolism slow down because it was starving , now I eat +1500 and I’m gained some weight but I’m starting this time in the good way for my body and my mind

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. I have been wanting to pick up getting fit but I have such a hard time knowing where to start. I wanted to get a personal trainer and a dietician but because of corona non of that is allowed. I couldn't completely tell you why, but watching to the end I was in tears. I spent a long time fighting against myself for what I thought was my own sake, whether it be trying to do everything or sinking and doing nothing. My mindset and my habits have come a long way, though still growing little by little, and following you has helped me continue to learn and pushed me and inspired me even more. Your workouts and programs have been something I look forward to, your videos like these are concise and well researched, and I think you're someone to look up to even outside your comfort zone of fitness. Thank you for such an informative video :) I have been exercising everyday for the past five days (chloe ting, blogilates etc), as well as eating clean and I can already feel a difference in my body. I was so proud of myself for being able to do an entire 16 minute video without stopping! when on the first day I kept stopping constantly and couldn't even finish one. So keen to try out your new program! I can't wait to get even stronger! :)

I lived with my parents for 27y. After 23y my weight was around 107 kg. Don't give up. Try to convience them. Tell them you don't push them to eat more healthy foods but you'd love to. I've found out that it is even less expensive, because if you consume rich healthy foods you eat smaller portions.

Could you offer to cook once a week? If they like the idea of that then you can slowly sneak in healthier foods e.g. sorry assuming that they eat meat - partially replace some mince with a bit of lentils, make a meal with sneaky lean white meat instead of red meat (my friend makes a surprisingly tasty turkey mince lasagna), partially swap out some mashed potatoes by mashing in some veggies like parsnips, carrots, sweet potato etc. Or honestly just add in some more veggies in the meal. Even if they don't eat them you can Good luck!
