I'm getting a mining engineering degree here in the states and was wondering how much travel I would be exposed to as a mining engineer? Work opportunities abroad? I used to live in Australia and would love to work there again but I'm also open to anywhere else. Any idea what my options are?

it's mostly dependent on the company you're with. If you're doing engineering consulting, you can be travelling to a new mine every 6-12 months. If you're with an international company, you may be rotating to a new mine every 1-2 years, depending if they have a rotational program.
