I actually ended up buying a bunch of ButtonShy games that I'd been on the fence about after your big ButtonShy day video. Skulls of Sedlec (not one you played, admittedly) is now a household favorite, but neither Stew, Avignon, nor Horreos really landed for me and my partner. It's really interesting to see how distilled the mechanics are in these little wallets, and figuring out which ones will land with which players! That said, I absolutely bought Revolver Noir AND the expansion and am super excited to table it soon.

Mycelia looks soo cute! I am definitely going to need that in my collection - I also really want to get into ButtonShy games, just haven't made the jump quite yet. Side note - I really like Jamie's sweater!

I bought revolver noir after your recommendation and love it! Highly recommend the expansion - it makes it more thematic/immersive and love the asymmetric powers. For example, the thief is trying to steal a diamond from the vault!

Whew! So glad you enjoy it!

I've enjoyed Button Shy games, with the caveat that there's only so much to get out of 18 cards. For the price and portability, all of the ones I have played are worth it. My favorite solo games are Naturopolis, Spaceshipped, and Rove. For 2 or more, Naturopolis, Skulls Of Sedlec, and Tides. Stew will probably get better with more plays, and I hope to play Revolver Noir soon. Smoke And Mirrors is decent. I hope they release Interceptor again, so I can order it along with all of the Spaceshipped expansions. (SS is a neat, one-of-a-kind game.)

I also bought a few more ButtonShy games after your BBday video. We loved STEW so much. I really wanted to like Revolver Noir more, but I felt like I was guessing more than truly figuring out where my husband was hiding. Maybe we played it wrong? Lately I've been playing a lot of Super Slopes and Royal Limited.

I think the key is to listen a lot. There’s always going to be a bit of guessing but with listening, you can start to deduce where people are. And if they use room Abilities, you’ll know

To semi quote Jerry Maguire, “you had me at perfect dark”. Played so much of it and golden eye back in the day, how can I not buy Revolver Noir!

Ahh yes, the well known Jerry M. Quote!

I found it interesting that you said that Sunrise Lane is a game you might play 2 or 3 times in a year. Is it worth $35 if that is the case? For those of us who don't play as often to begin with (in my family, it is about 24 game nights a year) I am starting to wonder what is the formula to determine what s "worth" buying these days....

It’s different for everyone. As content creators we cannot return to games as often as others can, just by the nature of what we do. I always like to look at these things from a cost per hour of enjoyment, way. If I play a game for 6 hours, and paid $30. That’s $5 / hour of entertainment (and that’s not even including a potential resale when I’m done with the game), pretty great value considering a cup of coffee is $5 these days. Again, I can’t speak for what will or won’t work for you, but I think using this lens can help make these types of decisions.

I would love to know the actual numbers on how many games you two have played, but I'd wager if it's not in the thousands, it has to be close to it!

We just checked. We’ve played 2187, and we only started recording in 2021 (we started in 2016) and doesn’t include a large bulk of our BGA plays. 847 different games (but again that’s not everything)
