I made this a few months ago but added cupuacu butter along with the shea. I also added hemp seed oil, colloidal oats, sage linalool, and blue cypress essential oils. It worked fantastic! My daughter suffers from painful eczema. 3 months later, thankfully it's all cleared up and she hasn't had any flair ups. She uses it at night after her shower. Goes on feeling greasy but dries into the skin immediately with no greasy mess left.

Welcome, and thank you so much! Don't forget to check out my blog (humblebeeandme.com) as well-I've been blogging since 2011 while I’ve only been on KZbin since about 2016, so there are a lot more formulations on the blog. The blog is also where my totally free ingredient encyclopedia and FAQ live, and they're both packed with tons of super-helpful information ❤️ Happy making!

I am sooo thankful to you for this recipe. I made this body butter this morning and it turned out perfect, so fluffy and light. First I thought it will fail because I had only unrefined Sheabutter, which still felt smooth in the test you specified. And I had only a common digital kitchen scale, couldn't weigh micrograms as specified in the recipe. When I started to whip the Sheabutter smooth, I realized it to be a very small quantity, so I doubled all the ingredients. Now I have to show it off to my friends.

I first tried Isopropyl Myristate about a year ago when I was working on my lotion formula to make it less greasy. I had previously been using tapioca starch. The Isopropyl Myristate was a game-changer! I love it! I'm going to try it in my body butter next! Thank you for posting!

I have just read this: People should not apply isopropyl alcohol to the skin for any reason, as it can pass into the bloodstream and cause poisoning. Rubbing alcohol is better for use in first aid and to sterilize small objects or surfaces.

I appreciate your videos and detailed explanation. 1. I made my first whipped shea butter following the steps you provided in another video (using heat). Since the result was creamy BUT somewhat greasy I discovered in this video that when using isopropyl myristate the result is not greasy. Can I add the isopropyl myristate to a finished whipped shea butter in order to remove the greasy feel? 2. Since I am in Cancun, Mexico I am unable to find isopropyl myristate. Can I use isopropyl alcohol instead?

I'm about to go camping a lot now that it's warming up where I live; may I request a video on rinse-free "soap" formulations (mostly for hands, but maybe shampoo/body wash)? I've looked at rinse-free products marketed for the elderly/special care & their caretakers, but very few companies list their ingredients for some reason. Is it the same concept as micellar waters?

Can you add cooled, melted Cocoa Butter to your liquid oil and whip with the shea?
@HumblebeeAndMe
@HumblebeeAndMe Жыл бұрын
That'll really depend on how much cocoa butter; it's brittle, which can cause problems when we want to make something that isn't brittle. Check out this formulation for an example that works: www.humblebeeandme.com/chocolate-cherry-whipped-body-butter/. Happy making!

Hi there I really enjoy your videos thank you for sharing all your formulations and your smile is beautiful I was going to buy isopropyl myristate but I noticed that the number one downfall of that product is that it clogs pores and is not good for acne-prone people is there a substitute I can use
@HumblebeeAndMe
@HumblebeeAndMe Жыл бұрын
Hi! 1. Substitutions are always listed in the free partner blog post :) 2. The idea of "comedogenic" or not really is nowhere near as simple as religiously avoiding every ingredient that gets a "bad" rating on a comeodogenicity rating chart. Comedogenic ratings really aren't all that helpful when determining if a product (rather than a pure ingredient) will clog human pores. Lab Muffin made a great video about it titled "Why Comedogenicity Ratings Are Kinda BS " ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6jdkJJ8hdZooac ). The title really says it all, but the general gist is: your skin isn't made of rabbit ears + the overall formulation really matter. Happy making!

I always link all the ingredients for any given formulation in the written version of the formulation in the free partner blog post, which is linked in in the written version of the formulation in the free partner blog post the description box below the video (that's one of the many reasons I highly suggest reading the blog post as well as watching the video! If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.). Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop.
