Just a heads up, add the vitamin E when it's cooled down a bit. You lose the antioxidant effect if it's heated. And it doesn't preserve the oils as well.

Yes we should be using vitamin E for skin benefit and as an anti oxidant for our butters, it can slow rancidity if you use a more pure form . Look for T-50 mixed tocopherols. ❤️ The type of vitamin e oil used in this video is not an antioxidant for oil I am not sure about skin

What a lovely product. Just as a note from making body butter for years, when it makes peaks, stop mixing because if you over mix it too much, eventually it will start to seize up and turn into a solid butter again. I've made that mistake the last two times I made it because my skills were getting rusty.

Oh my! I love this. I just finished making it. I started yesterday. Then, I decided to put it in the freezer because you mentioned that you had to. Then I got crazy distracted. I thought my son wasn't going to need me for his KZbin video. He has a KZbin channel as well and well, instead of whipping my body butter, it sat in the freezer for hours while I followed him around our house, holding his boom mic while he filmed a Christmas Batman movie for his channel. 😂 Anyway, by the time I got it to, it was frozen, SOLID! My mixer barely scraped it. So I left it in the refrigerator overnight and then this morning let it come to room temp while I enjoyed my coffee. Then I whipped it up. I separated it into 2 batches and did 1/2 unscented and the other Peppermint. It's so luxurious. It seems like it's going to be oily, but it absorbs so much into my skin and feels so soft. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you all. If you want to see the Batman Christmas movie, ask, and I'll tell you his channel. (All my kids work together to make short films. They have a nice collection of their work. )

I love coconut oil in my BB. So many people don’t and they resist listening to me expressing my love for it🥥❤🥥 ❤ I want to share something I learned from a butter manufacturer , to heat my cocoa butter to melt than add my Shea butter and mango , then coconut since it melts at the lowest temp and cocoa butter is the highest melt point. After using residual heat to melt the butter add your liquid oil to cool the mixture. Using a warm water bath was directed but this is so time consuming, melting on low heat is fine. Doing this helps preserve the benefits of the butters, that high heats can damage.

If using essential oil(s), add at the end of meltIng. Vit E a good preservative and good for your skin so I always use a couple capsules when melting. You can also use a distilled water to make the cream slightly thinner and easier to apply to skin. If you don’t have a piping bag, a zip lock back with a corner cut will work also.

I love this video, thank you. I have to make this non-scented version. I'm sure it's less expensive than buying lotion from the store. I already buy these oils and butters for my hair and non- whipped cream for my daughter's eczema. These would be so wonderful as gifts too for male and females.

@@EllenRuthSoap I did make your body butter and it feels real good. If I add more arrowroot, while that change the way the butter glides on the skin? While it make the body butter harder?? Many thanks

Ellen, will you please do a short video on how to purchase the right "seal" for jars and tins and also how to use them? It would be really helpful! TY!

I’ve heard that citrus fragrances can cause skin sensitivity to sun, but I’m not entirely sure. This video was super helpful and I’m definitely gonna make it sometime :)

That body butter looked amazing. Might try and give a 1/2 recipe a go, just for myself and close family, friends. By the way, I thought you presented them beautifully, With there earthy tone labels, and then that little seal round the top, perfect.🥰🇬🇧⛄
